Teething ??
Absolutely! Teething can happen very early, but 14 weeks is an appropriate time! Infant tylenol worked for me!
Reply:sounds like it to me. are his gums swollen
Reply:Babies just teeth when they want. Some dont teeth till later on and some teeth at 6 weeks old. Just do everything you can to make the baby comfortable.

Teething..?
My son recently started teething..His first finally cut and im pretty sure the 2nd 1 is starting to work its way up. My ? is he seems to want to sleep ALL the time he naps 3x a day (which is normal 4 him) but his naps are usually almost 2 hrs. is this normal during teething? hes 7m btw. He sleeps from 7pm to 6-630 am. I dont know if he wakes up during the nite or not bc he doesnt cry so i assume hes sleepin.
Teething..?
Everytime my son cuts a new tooth he seems to get sleepier too. He also seems to sleep more when he is growing.
Reply:growing is what he is doing
dont worry it is better than crying
Reply:Teething has a lot of weird symptoms.... I wouldn't worry about him sleeping more often but you could always look up more side effects of teething in a parenting book or on the internet if you want...
Reply:That's totally normal, Mom, don't worry. Oh, enjoy the naps while you can. Lay yourself down and take a nap, too. It won't last forever.
Reply:wow!! thats a lot of naps!!!sleeping isnt gonna hurt him tho..if anything it will just give u more time alone.he's fine!
Reply:yes its normal..my daughter is doing the same thing shes 11 months old and just got 2 teeth...she takes 2-3 hour naps now and she sleeps a good 11 hours or more before she will wake up in the morning....enjoy it get stuff done take a nap hehe
Reply:leave well enough alone. your lucky, most babies who are teething are very difficult to deal with!
Reply:Yes and be glad he does or he would probably be crying! You are very lucky!!
Reply:Get him a teething ring and it IS normal for him to sleep a long time. That is the best way for him to cut more theeth sleep
Reply:Hi, mine was like that too. When she started teething, she wasn't cranky, god bless her...But she seemed to want to sleep more. So I let her. She normally sleeps alot of hours at night also, goes to bed at 9, and gets up at 9!
Reply:i dont think you should be concerned when my kids where smaller they would have periods where they would sleep a lot they say its when their growing your lucky that your child sleeps throught the night and unless your pediatrician has told u theres something wrong i wouldnt worry its just part f growing.

Teething...?
My daughter is almost 7 months old. Yesterday, she was very fussy and anything I did to try and make her happy would NOT work. I gave her Motrin, thinking it was her teething. That obviously didn't work because she just cried and whined after that also. She ate like she normally does. Nothing else was "abnormal," just the constant crying ALL day. I finally got her to sleep, but she continued to get up every HOUR. Today she is still very whiny and doesn't want to play or do anything but cry. Is there anything else I can do besides the Motrin to try and comfort her? I have tried the teething rings, but she isn't to interested in them.
Teething...?
when my son did that I was also confused as to what it was. It turns out that he had an ear infection. Worth a trip to the doc to find out.
Reply:my little brother has recently started teething too, my parents have got him a teething gel dont know where to get it but its quite good, u just rub it on their gums, try search it on google or in a shop ask a assisstant hope thts helped x
Reply:Take her to the doctor it might be something else besise teething..
Reply:you can rub her gums. My son likes that when he is teething.
Reply:If she is teething, you can try a cooling teething ring. They go in the fridge for a few hours and then your baby can suck on it.. They are supposed to be very soothing.. There is also "Baby Orajel Oral Pain Reliever for Teething" which works wonders!
Good Luck!
Reply:There is a natural herbal teething powder you can buy, I think you get it from Holland and Barrat, maybe even boots. My mate used to use it with her son. She believed it was better for him, because it was made of all natural ingredients, no sugars etc.
I suppose all you can do is make sure she does not have a high temperature and help her through it as much as possible. She is probably cutting one or more of her back teeth, they are usually the worst.
Reply:it sounds like teething but does she have a fever or anything? maybe she could be feeling a little ill or something else.
i hate to say it but my son was going through his diaper bag (with me around watching) when he was about 6.5/7months and he found a soother. he'd never taken one before but he just popped it in his mouth and now he deals with teething a lot better. he really only uses it when we're in the car and when he's going down for a nap. maybe you could try that?
Reply:Has she used the restroom? if it is teething I used to put vanilla abstract on my boys gums. I also used to put crown on the also so that is up to you I dip my finger in the bottle the rub it on there gums it was a very tiny tiny tiny amount
Reply:Ginger nut biscuits are very very good for teething babies, the ginger numbs the gums, and this is a natural aid that won't harm you baby in any way too, I used to swear by it...

Teething???
My baby is about 8 weeks old and now she starting to cry and suck on her hands whenever she is not sleeping. She also is sucking on her hands even though she has already had her bottle. Just curious, should i call the doctor or is this a sign of teething? It seems to be worse during the day right up until bed time. I have given her the infant tylenol to help subdue the pain, but not sure if its really teething! Thanks so much!!
Teething???
If the gums are overly red, try some baby Ambesol or Oragel. I have seen babies born with teeth, so they can come in at any time. Best of luck to you and your little one!
Reply:At 8 weeks ist's unlikely that she's teething.
She must be uncomfortable due to some other reason, please check. If you can't find it, and she still cries a lot, consult your Pedi.
Reply:I would STOP the tylenol! I highly doubt she is teething. Most babies don't start till AT LEAST 5-6 months. I am not an advocate of medicating unless necessary. My guess is maybe she is still hungry or that is just something that is soothing for her as opposed to a pacifier. HTH
Reply:Try gently rubbing your fingers on her gums. Those little teeth sound like they want to pop thru. Also, they have baby Ora-gel. I did both on my kids and it helped. Good luck!
Reply:She probably wants to suck more. Try giving her a pacifier. Stop with the Tylenol. I'd only give that stuff to my baby if she had a high fever. All that crap ruins your liver. My grand daughter does the same thing . When we pop the pacifier in her mouth she's fine.
Reply:That could be a sign for teething my son started teething at 2 months. if shes drooling a lot is also a sign. but if you want to just make sure call your pediatrician. Good Luck!
Reply:I doubt that she is teething at this young age. She may possibly have an ear infection, or perhaps she might benefit from a pacifier. If she starts to cry like she's in pain, take her to the doctor. Earaches are common in babies, as they drink while laying back. They are also extremely painful. She's very young. If in doubt, take her to the doctor.
Reply:Call the doctor just to make sure. I don't know too many babies that started teething that early. My little sister starting teething at about 4 1/2 or 5 months. Maybe she is just an early bird which isn't too much to be concerned about.
Good Luck!
Reply:It does sound like the starting of teething alright. You can buy those soft teething rings and put them in the fridge then give to your baby to chomp down on. It will help sooth the pain. They also have homeopathic pellets that disolve in the baby's mouth that are a natural pain reliever if you don't want to give her Tylenol so often. Good luck!!! :)
Reply:We used to have access to a drug called paregoric. That was nice, but they took it off the market and changed it to prescription because it was so effective.
Feel in your baby's mouth and see if you feel any teeth trying to break through. Good possibility she is teething. Get one of those teething rings you can put in the freezer, and let her chew on one of those. Give her other soothing things to chew on. If she has a fever, call the doctor, but should be OK if it is just the other symptoms you mentioned.
Maybe she's bored. Get a mobile or put her in a swing so she can watch you go about your work. Does she act this way if you are holding her? If not, get one of those backpacks for babies that you put in the front of you and let her ride around with you all day.
Reply:It is probably not teething and not pain. It is normal for infants to suck on their hands. Let her or try a pacifier if it bothers you that much. Stop giving her tylenol for no reason. Sucking can be a sign of hunger. She may be going through a growth spurt and needing to be fed more often.

Teething....?
my baby is 5weeks old on monday and is teething and recently has came out with a few small spots n i was wondering if it is common 2 get a rash when they are teething
Teething....?
Where are the spots? Has she had fever? Whats the rash look like?
Its not unheard of for a newborn to teeth, but its not super common either. Maybe theres something different going on...
At her age it might be infant acne, but without more information its hard to tell.
Reply:I wouldnt bet on it. If I were you I would have the rash treated.
Reply:It is very common to get a rash around the mouth and chin, think about all that spit!.
Edited:
It could be baby acne, very common also. Check with your baby's doctor to make sure.
Reply:5 weeks seems a little early to be teething...they usually don't until at least 4 months.
Reply:The rash is normal...it's from the excessive drooling. I used a touch of Balmex on the area to help protect the skin.
Reply:The rash is probably just from drooling. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I doubt she is teething.
At 10 weeks my son started drooling and chewing on everything, I was so sure he was teething. He is now 7 months and just got his first 2 teeth about a month ago. I think teething symptoms are overrated. My son's drooling actually improved a few weeks before he got his firfst tooth.
I would just make sure you keep her face dry and maybe but some Aquaphor on the area, it will protect it from moisture while treating the rash.
Reply:if it is what i am thinking of, its because of all that drool.
it can cause a rash around the mouth and chin and cheeks :)
Reply:your baby is 5 weeks old, that is uncommon for a baby so young to be teething, but the spots on its cheek/chin area is probably excessive dry skin from milk or slobbers (normal) it will b just fine. congradulations on your new born
Reply:It is common, it is from the major amounts of saliva they are producing when teething.
Reply:oh it is really normal........my son is 14 months and his seventh tooth just came in and he had a rash from head to toe...took him to the doctor and she said it was from teething....just give him cool baths and Tylenol....i did and his rash is almost gone....just try to keep baby comfy...and minimum pain (orajel..tylenol...teething toys)////by the way i found that the nigh time orajel was the best.....it has more medicine...but i used it during the day to.....good luck

Teething??
My 3 month old has been a bit fussy lately. She drools a ton and chews her fingers and is a bit stuffed up. I know some of this is somewhat normal but it seems like she does it more than before. Could she be teething and if so can someone tell me about teething tablets and if they are safe? Thanks in advance.
Teething??
I only tried those on my girl once and I can say don't do it if you want your baby to sleep. These kept her awake forever. What I ended up doing was the cheapest thing in the world but it seemed to work the best. I took a couple of soft washcloths, got them wet, wrung them out till they were just damp and threw them in the freezer. When she would get fussy, I would get one out for her to chew on. The icy coolness soothed her gums but melted quick so as not to be too cold too long. Chewing on a washcloth doesn't hurt anything and she couldn't pop them like the teething rings you can buy in the stores.
Try it....see what your baby thinks. I kept 2 or 3 going all the time so all I had to do is swap one out for another.
Good Luck.
Reply:there are some things like you can buy these boxes of hard cracker things that are like in the shape of a mini breadstick. their made for babies to chew on for teething. good luck
Reply:I guess I raised my kids too long ago to know about teething tablets, but we had some things that seemed to work and were definitely safe. You can rub an ice cube on her gums, this relieves the pain for a while, like enough time for her to go to sleep. Also, they used to sell teething rings, these could be chewed on the way they are, or again frozen, the cold helps alot. There was also a gel that was sold in the drug store, I can't remember the name but the pharmacist would know. Have fun, it's only just begun.
Reply:I think you are right. It sounds like she is teething. My daughter got her first to teeth right before she turned 4 months and I know I got my first tooth at 3 months, so I think it is completely possible. As for the teething tablets, my doctor told me he recommended them more that gels (like Orajel). I also gave me daughter lots of things to chew on. And I chilled a wet washcloth in the refrigerator and she could chew and suck on that. And I crushed up ice cubes and put them in one of those mesh feeders and she loved it!
Reply:=] my son was exactly like this.. he's now 5 months and just got his first one the other day [ he's been doing the drooling, etc since 10 weeks, but week before the tooth got a fever and stuffy nose ]
Hylands tablets work well for my son along with orajel.. The tablets do not numb the pain, but help the teething SYMPTOMS such as restlessness, whinyness and fussiness.. the orajel literally numbes.. so good luck =]
* yes, they are safe, they also have chammomine in the them which will help your baby sleep
Reply:I wouldnt go along with sharon, those cookie things can dissolve too easily and a piece can break insid the baby's mouth and cause choking. I use Baby orajel. It numbs her quick and stops the fussiness. My baby girl got her first tooth alittle before tunring 4 months. She is now 4 1/2 months and just got her second one. When she first started teething she was really fussy at times and always with her fingers in her mouth. You can also tell if she is by looking at her gums and seeing if they are kind of turning white.
Reply:I use teething tablets with my son they are 100% natural and homeopathic. I was just giving him the 1-3 that is directed, but the pharmacist told me to use 4-5 at a time. I really find that they work. You can also use tylenol on top of it.
Also, my son started all those teething signs at about 12 weeks, he is now 6 months with no teeth.
Reply:My son starting doing the exact same thing at about 2 1/2 months. I give him Hylands teething tablets and orajel. Just make sure that if you use orajel that it isn't around feeding time because it can also numb their tongue and make it hard to swallow. My son also loves his First Years Massaging Action Teether. http://www.onestepahead.com they can also be found at Target and Wal-mart.

my 5 month old is teething like mad, tried bonjela brandy teething rings calpol paracetamol nothing works...help!!!
Teething!!!?
I feel your pain...my little one is 10 months old, and I cringe every time I see a new tooth coming. Know, that it does get better after the first 4. The best that I could do for her was Tylenol every 4 hours, and she loved the Ambesol Qtips! She would actually clap when she saw me pull out the case. I also tried wetting a washcloth and putting it in the freezer....but I found her favorite to be a spoon. Good luck...it won't last too long!
Reply:I have no idea what you gave him, never heard of that...Im in the US.
Try frozen teething rings%26amp; ambasol at the same time this numbs their little gums, also try some infant tylenol.
Good Luck!
Reply:Put pressure on the area where his teeth are coming in. Let him chew on your fingers or give him something safe to chew on. Putting pressure on the area relieves the pain.
Don't give him a frozen teething ring. It can bruise his gums and cause frostbite. Wet a washcloth in water and put it in a bowl in the refridgerator and let it get cold. Wring out some of the water and let him chew on that instead of a frozen teething ring.
Reply:Well, I would not use any of of gum numbing stuff because it can also numb his tongue. Gerber teething biscuits are great. I used to just sit rub my babies gums (with super clean hands and a dampened clean wash cloth - of course) and it seemed to provide a great level of relief for him.
Reply:The only thing I do is put teething rings in the fridge and let him chew on those, or any other toy that he wants to. When it gets really bad, I put a little Baby Orajel on his gums and he relaxes for a bit.
He really also likes chewing on a cold, wet burp cloth.
Reply:the best thing for a teething baby is a teething ring...i had tried all the gels and so on...my son got the most relief by a hard teething ring or rubbing his gums on his crib
