Teething...?

My daughter is 5 months old and I think she is teething... Does teething keep a baby up? She hasn't been able to sleep more than 30 minutes at a time. She is also not finishing any of her bottles but is still enjoying solids... the doctor we saw on Sunday said it could be gastro interites or teething but now I really don't know what is going on... your views?

Sounds very much like teething. My little boy gets very upset when trying to have his bottle when he's having a bad day with teething- he's 4 1/2 months and not on solids yet. He wants to have it but breaks off quickly and its quite a battle! Tries to get his fist in his mouth at the same time too! So he often doesn't finish when its like that. A bit of bonjela about 10 mins before bottle helps.
Reply:i think teething myself sucking a bottle hurts when teething but eating mush doesn't i would try and include more milk in her solids and try ice lollies made by you if you worry whats in them, Also try anbesol its fab. Good luck and don't forget patience and love are the best cure of all pain hang on in there! x
Reply:my son has been like your daughter with every tooth!! he now has 4 and didn't sleep or feed properly when each 1 cut as soon! as the tooth broke the gum he was 100% fine again i just pray we do not have this until he has a full set!!


i give capol, warm bath and lots of cuddles.


he also seems to get very bad nappy rash just as the tooth is cutting!!


go with your instincts it may be she is ready for more solids and slightly less milk my son prefers solids lets face it though wouldnt we rather tasty food instead of boring milk all the time :-)
