Teething..?

My son is usually a happy baby but lately he has been acting HORRIBLE.. Always wanting to be held, never happy, whining all the time. Could this be because he's teething (he's 8 months old)? Is there anything else I can do for him besides orajel the gums and tylenol?

Teething..?
teething tablets (they have regular and homeopathic ones) You can wet a wash rag and put it in the freezer until it gets very cold and hand it to him to chew on. I would say that it is definetly a possibility that he is teething. My daughter started teething at 3 months. You can tell if he has teeth coming in by looking at his gums. Most all babies get there front 4 teeth first, my daughter got her bottom one first. Just look at his gums and see if they look a little red or swollen, or if you can see a little white bump under the skin on the gums. He also may run a very mild fever. IF he is teething, he will start drooling really bad, and with most babies they get a rash around their mouth from the constant wetness. If you have a problem with this, you can clean and dry the area very well and get some aquafor ointment, or some desitin clear to put around his mouth as a skin protectant, it will definetly help it. You can also use vaseline, but it doesn't have healing agents like the desitin and aquafor do. So it will work as a protectant, but it most likely wont heal it very fast.

Good LUCK!! Hope this helps :)
