Teething???

My daughter is teething, what all can I give her?

Teething???
These work with my daughter, maybe they'll work for you:

1) A wet wash cloth - you can freeze it to soothe her gums.

2) Give her your finger to chew on.

Talk to your doctor about:

1) Orajel

2) Infant Tylenol

A lot of older people tell me to put a little rum or brandy on their gums. Haven't tried that though.
Reply:Tylenol, Morton, something cold or with texture
Reply:Tylenol or Motrin for the pain - especially if she's fighting you on feedings. Something cold to gnaw on - keep a wet washcloth in a baggie in the fridge for her, or give her a frozen bagel or one of those teething rings to chew on. I wouldn't do anything like Orajel or something like that because it can burn their gums.
Reply:Take a dry washcloth and tie it in a knot, then wet washcloth and pop it in the freezer, she can chew on it once it's frozen.

I cut up fruit and froze it, then I put it in one of these thingies so my child could chew on that cool fruit, without choking on it. Here's what I'm talking about - they have them at walmart and babies r us and drugstore.com:

I also put ice cubes in that Munchkin thingie. Any teething rings with liquid inside can be refrigerated and are nice to chew on. And if they didn't intend for teething babies to take Tylenol then it wouldn't exist - I used infant tylenol for teething with all my kids.

Over the counter gel that is for teething/tooth pain is dangerous, if your child is allergic to the active ingredient they can go into shock. My pediatrican and the doctors in my family DO NOT advise using topical numbing gel/ointment for any child, especially not an infant.
Reply:I give my daughter tyneol but of course you dont want to give it too often as well at night i give her a little whiskey/brandy rub it on her gums put it in a glass with an ice cube and put back in the freezer it wont freeze and the ice wont melt then after 30 minutes to an hour dip your finger in and rub it on it will feel good from cold as well you could use the ice cube if you wanted since it will have been sitting in the brandy and once she has drifted off sip a little yourself to help you sleep since chances are it was a long day with a teething baby.

During the day I use tyneol, baby orajel(easy), and sometimes the cool teether rings that go in the fridge but she isnt big on them and other than that she chews on her own finger alot. Good Luck
Reply:You can give her teething bisquits, they sell them at the grocery store. I believe they are made by gerber. you can give her animal crackers or baby toast. The taste and feel of it on her gums should take her mind off the pain. Other than that I have always used baby liquid tylenol.
Reply:infants tylenol or motrin, for pain. orajel for the actual gums. you can give her a frozen teething ring. My son liked them when they weren't frozen. You can also try a wet wash cloth, depending on how old she is. Good luck
Reply:there alot of thing you can do ang give i used to wash my hands and massage them. or you can give her green onion to suck on it help the pain and is good for there teeth
