Teething!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

My 7 month old son is just cutting his first tooth and I feel like I'm ready to commit myself to the looney bin!!!!!!!! He is so irritable and keeps on waking up in the middle of the night!!! Any tips on what to do? I look back and wonder how I ever dealt with the colic, this should seem like a breeze? Maybe I've had it too easy for the last few months.

Teething!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Teething is NOT fun. Not for you or your baby. I too wanted to check myself into the looney bin! No sleep for me or my baby made us both cranky and irritable, plus the pain and discomfort my baby was dealing with made her cry all the time. I did try tylenol (not motrin as my baby was only 4 months) and it didn't help. She hated the Orajel - try some on your tongue and you will see why! But I did have success with Hylands Teething Tablets and Gel. These products are all natural and work amazingly well. You can get them at your local drug store or grocery store.

Also try a variety of teething rings and toys. My baby was picky when it came to which toy she wanted to chew on! You can also try rubbing/massaging your son's gums. This seemed to give my baby some relief.

I know that this can be a very trying time, but hang in there. The teeth will eventually pop through. And then the toothy smiles make it all worth it!
Reply:LoL - fun, isn't it? Wait till he's cutting his canines...those are hell!!! My daughter did those on a 4 hour trip home on a full flight.

I have one word for you - Tylenol. Works wonders!
Reply:First of all, a mother never has it too easy! Being a mother is a difficult task no matter what age the child is, all the way from 1 day to 25 years old. It never stops. One of the things that really helped my daughter is I gave her baby tylenol and baby motrin. After the tylenol wait four hours then after the motrin wait six. Combining the two makes it less likely for a child to get an upset stomache and they both use different kinds of pain relievers.
Reply:Tylenol is the better pain reliever, though i've found Ibuprofen works just as well and lasts longer. Baby Orajel is a great help if you can get the stuff in their mouths. I also let my son chew on a frozen rag. He gets soaked but he loves it.
Reply:It's not fun is it? My daughters' first tooth was always the toughest to deal with. Try tylenol, cool teething rings for him to chew on and maybe some Oragel(sp?) "This too shall pass." Good luck!
Reply:I have 3 kiddos the youngest being 8mths old. She is cutting teeth also. I just give her teething tablets at night and motrin. There is nothing you can really do for them. You can use orajel also. It will get better!!
Reply:First give him tylenol or motrin. and then rub orajel on his gumbs. It works wonders!! My daughter is 11 months and has 8 teeth already. Also put a fan in his room, mine wont sleep without it, cause of the fresh air and the noise.

Good luck!!
Reply:Tylenol and sugar free and fat free popsicles. I let my son lick a popsicle if he was fussy from teething, and instantly he would stop. Teething rings worked ok, but the popsicles were instant relief for him. He is 7 months, so it would definately be ok to let him lick on popsicles. Just make sure they are normal popsicles that are fat and sugar free. I also gave him the teething bisquits, you could try that, but keep a very close eye on him, encase he bites a chunk. Good Luck!!!
Reply:you can give him tylenol and an hour later Ibpropen. They don't have the same ingrediant it will help with the pain....Anothe thing my kids loves was a frozen wash cloth....that was their favorite... other than that they are just crazy for a couple weeks
Reply:Try Orajel, Tylenol, and then let him chew on a frozen waffle (with supervision).

Those waffles work wonders! :-)
