Teething??????????

my baby is 18 month old and he's teething eye teeth it's 5 day already, he has a fever and he is really in a bad mood, he's eating well, his fever right now is 99.6 sometime higher, his gum is all red and swollen . any ideas? is that from teething? an how long will it last? help plzzzz

Teething??????????
It usually takes a week to 10 days before teething passes. One idea that worked with my son was to take washclothes and soak them in water...then freeze them. Once they are frozen give them to your little one to chew on.
Reply:Probably from teething, my youngest has a horrible time when she teethes and it sounds about like her experiences. (We've been up since 3 a.m thanks to two teeth coming in)

I like the homeopathic teething tablets, and maybe some weak chamomile tea to take the edge off. But at night- or any time the pain or fever seems worse- ibuprofen is not only fine but good- there is no reason for pain to be left uncontrolled. My first two never had problems teething, so this has all been new to me- this one just gets tortured with each one...I tried everything with the first two bottom teeth and ultimately, disregarding my hesitance to give babies medication, she really needed Tylenol or ibuprofen to be comfortable.
Reply:That is defiantly from teething. Give him some Tylenol or Motrin, that will help with the fever and swelling. A cold washcloth and teething rings will help too.

The teething can last up to 2 weeks, every baby is different, just have to wait and see. I heard the eye teeth are the hardest for the babies so just hang in there!

Good luck!
Reply:Try a sugar free popsicle. My son loves it and it helps calm him down a little while he's teething.
