Any teething tips, please help!!!?

I'm at my wit's end with my 10 month old. He won't take his bottle or sippee cup, bats away any solid food. Is up at all hours of the night and won't take any naps during the day. He used to be the perfect baby until a couple of weeks ago. He used to take his naps, eat his food, and sleep through the night. I know he is teething, but I'm going crazy. I've tried medicine, ice, teething rings. I just don't know what else to do. I live in a town with no relatives so I can't even get any sort of break from him. I love him to death, but I need some sort of help!!

Any teething tips, please help!!!?
I suppose you have tried Anbesol, then. How about a little dab of whiskey directly on his gums every so often. I'm sure that's how they did it in the olden days. There's always a good bone- a sturdy chicken bone (no Jokes). There are also teething cookies, quite messy, but babies love them. My best solution (I've had 4 kids), though, were Hyplar's teething tablets. They are a homeopathic (sp?) white small chewable tablet that comes in a clear glass bottle. (Ask your pharmacist). That is what saved me.
Reply:get some clove oil from a natural health food store. It works better in numbing the gums. My son used to chew on milk bones. I know it sounds nasty, but it works. The pediatrician said it was o.k.. They work better then teething cookies that melt in two seconds.
Reply:Teething tablets! Anbesol didn't work with either of my babies, it was so temporary it wasn't even worth applying the gooey mess. I'd suggest Tylenol to bring the fever down and 2 of the teething tablets. They are amazing, they disolve so quickly and before you know it, your baby will be sleeping.
Reply:Kara,

Hang on! It's an exhausting venture, but you'll make it through. I've 6 kids from ages 5-20. IF your little man does NOT have any teeth now, a careful eye on him might allow you to give him green onions to chew on. Yes, I know it's weird. Onion powder is in a lot of baby foods, and the smell is offensive... so will your boy's smell be after chewing on a green onion! But it MIGHT help. It did wonders for one of my kids. For another kid it was cold, smoothly peeled carrots for gnawing on. THOSE ARE BEFORE TEETH options - after teeth, the baby will get chunks off of the carrot and has the risk of inhaling the pieces. The onions require a watchful eye always because of the stringy nature.

Babies R Us, WalMart, etc. carry a ring for freezing fruit in a mesh bag for baby to chew/eat, because I expect your 10 month old has teeth and an appetite.

Ultimately, there is no sure cure. We endure, appreciate a listening ear, and keep ever in mind that these things last for days or weeks only. Rarely ever does a child challenge last for more than a couple of months and we're readily onto a new concern and worry. I wish you every best!
Reply:I use to give my son frozen bananas. That way he gets relief and nutrition at the same time. It can get messy, but god did it help. Another thing that worked was teething tablets versus using oragel.
