Remedies for teething??

My daughter is 6 months and just miserable. She is drooling like mad...ends up soaking my carpet...(lol) and is so fussy. She puts every toy in her mouth and gets so upset when the rattle won't fit in her whole mouth. She tried to chew the coffee table the other day and got mad her head kept hitting it therefore preventing her mouth from reaching it. I wash my hands really good and she will just gnaw on my finger. She chews on her pacifier instead of sucking it, instead of drinking the bottle she chews the nipple. So I am taking this is all signs of her teething, so what remedies will help? I give her teething toys and rub her gums and try to comfort her but I am not sure of any other ideas?..any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Remedies for teething??
Wet/cold wash cloth to chew/suck on

Cold/Frozen carrot to knaw on

Ice cube in mesh feeder bag

Hylands Teething Tablets (All natural, sold in most stores)

Appropriate dose of Motrin or Tylenol, should everything else fail

Baby Oragel (Some say it works, according to AAP it hardens gums, making it difficult for teeth to come thru)

Keep on massaging if she will have it....I use teething rings at room temp for my girl, she will chew on them if not cold, she doesnt like her hands cold...thats all I got...Good Luck!
Reply:Try the teething tablets. I dont remember who makes them but u can get them at walmart. They work great. I lived by them when my kids where younger.
Reply:Tylenol Infant Drops. They really help. You will have to call you doctor to see about the dosage. Put a wet wash cloth in the freezer for a bit and let her chew on that. You can also put it in a zip lock baggie if you don't want the water everywhere.
Reply:Good day,

Teething..... Think frozen peas, Melba tst, frozen banana. cheerios... Web site out there also. Put the teething rings in the freezer. Talk with your Dr. that is what they are there for..Isnt motherhood grand...
Reply:First of all, be careful for the table if it's wood. You don't want splinters or such in her little mouth. :-)

Talking w/ my baby's pediatrician, he told me to take a q-tip and soak it in children's benedryl. This will numb her gums for at least a good hour. The baby oragel did not work for her at all. My daughter is almost 7 months and is still teething, meaning they still have not come thru. The benedryl really seems to work for her and she's not ingesting this as a medicine and it does not make her sleep (since she's not ingesting it). Talk to your pediatrician about using the benedryl before buying it. Your's may have another suggestion instead. Also try wetting one corner of a wash cloth in cold water; my daughter enjoys gumming this also. Best of luck!
Reply:Teething pills work well as does baby oral gel, you can also get some of the kool aid freezer pops hold them let her gum them. If you find a teething toy you freeze they work well too. You can get the teething pills at the drug store and also the oral gel.
Reply:wet a washcloth and put it in the fridge i had the same problem with my 11 month old and still do.she only has cut 3 teeth and i have bought any kind of teething ring out there, and this is all that seems to actually soothe her gums, they also have a new baby orajel that comes with a break off applicator that you apply with a Qtip.its alot better than the plain old baby orajel.
Reply:I used to give my son a cold apple (whole, peeled) to suck on. I have heard about those teething tablets as well.
Reply:I know people on here are going to think I'm Crazy and that giving this to a teething baby is bad for it's stomach and digestive system, but it helped with ALL my Nieces and Nephews, and they are adicted to this day... And they loved it..

SLIM JIMS....

you have to stay with them while they are chewing/gumming it to death, but it works wonders....
Reply:when my daughter started teething i gave her the all natural fruit juice popsicles, since she was only 5 months and her mouth was too small for a teething ring. it ends up being a bit messy but she loved it.
