Fever, teething, up at night???

I'm pretty sure my son is about to cut his next set of teeth he had his first high fever yesterday, lots of drooling, chewing alot, quite red cheeks. How long can these more severe teething symptoms last?? like the fever and the chesty cough? does that mean the teeth should be in soon? It's been six weeks since he cut his bottome teeth. Also he was so uncomfortable with this fever, I used tempra and he was in and out of sleep most of the day. He woke last night of course...should I go to him in the night if it's teething?? Wish I knew...he could also be sick right?

Fever, teething, up at night???
I am going through that right now. My daughter is 11 months old and has 8 teeth. The symptoms are everything you stated. the cough, runny nose, temperature, chewing, drooling, crying, not sleeping. Also with teething can cause ear infections that require antibotics. I had to take her to the doctor this morning for it and she had an ear infection. You give motrin to help the fever and you can you baby oragel on his gums to sooth the pain and then he should sleep. Do not be afraid if he does not want to eat. He will eat when is he ready. You could call the nurse where you take him for care and go over his sysmptoms with them and if they feel they need to see him then go from there.
