Puppy teething?

My 7 month old puppy is teething and she chews on like the base boards or bottom of the wall, how can i stop her. No doesnt seem to fase her anymore so another good word that could get her attention would be super! I know she is teething and is gonna chew on stuff, thats the only thing i dont want to chewing on so please help

Puppy teething?
Use some alternate chew items. For instance find some old dishcloths or tea towels, tie them in knots, wet them down, put them in a baggy and freeze them. When she begins to chew, get one, go to her and use your 'NO' in a strong voice, not a loud one and offer her the knotted, icy towel. Don't forget the 'good girls' when she takes it.

Some other items are ice cubes, frozen bouillon cubes or kongs. You can even get teething toys, for freezing, at the pet store.

You can try using the nasty tasting sprays that are available but too often the dogs acquire a taste for them and start looking for things that are sprayed with the 'bitter apple' etc..

The good news is, at 7 mos. old she near the end of her teething. So get her onto an alternative or she will keep chewing just for the sake of chewing.

Oh, on my own dogs I use the word 'ENOUGH' again in a strong, not a loud voice. I like it because you can draw out the word and it seems to be more attention getting.
Reply:Buy some bitter apple spray for your baseboards, and keep her busy with chew toys.
Reply:try giving her some chew toys or one of those big rawhide bones that is going to take forever for them to finish
Reply:Well since you can't exactly put the baseboards and the wall away so she can't get to it.. I would think that the Bitter Apple Spray might be your best bet.. Spraying those things that she insists on chewing to keep her from getting to them when you turn your back, but when you see her going for them, You should tell her no, pull her away from the walls and baseboard, and give her something that will be ok to chew,, rawhide or whatever... That way she knows you don't want her chewing the walls, the spray reinforces that, and you are giving her something that will actually help her and is appropriate.
Reply:teach her or let her chew on you figer or hand once in a while..untill she gets teeth or buy her a rubber toy that always helps! dont buy her like a platic squeky one that wont help..somthing hard even a little tenis ball but ihighly suggest rubber!
Reply:A good thing to do is wet a wash cloth that you don't want any more and put it in the freezer to freez. After it is frozen give it to your puppy to chomp on. This will help knumb her gums.
Reply:My puppy is still teething too. Whatever you give them do not give it RAWHIDE...it is not digestible for dogs. It can get caught in their digestive systems and have to be surgically removed.

I suggest a "KONG" you can buy them at pretty much any pet store and they have different sizes for the size of your dog. They are little rubber toys with a hole in the middle of them. I suggest you put peanut butter and a few kibbles in it and stick it in the freezer for a while .It feels good on their gums and doesn't rip apart. My puppy also L-O-V-E-S ice cubes.

Mine never ended up chewing on the walls or furniture..but

I also don't recommend letting them bite your hands, we did and he's still doing it. It's weird because he's great at obedience except for biting our hands. Hopefully these will distract your dog, and she will forget about the baseboards.

GOOD LUCK
Reply:There are great big knuckle bones that the dog can chew on, my lab puppy ate the end of my couch off, if she has this bone she will not try and eat the rest of the couch. They have these bones at wal-mart or petsmart they are like 5-10 bucks depending on how big you get, if this is a fairly big dog get a really big bone. Hope you find something before it moves to your couch.
Reply:you could also try nylabones. They work pretty good, but I think the best, like someone already posted is the frozen towel. We used a hand towel cause our puppy was bigger. My dogs hated the Kong but you might have luck with one.....freeze that too.....My golden loves chewing on the chair legs....they are all bitten up...LOL...yeah, not really funny but oh well....it's worth having a puppy...good luck....oh and my pup just licked the bitter apple spray....they all react different
Reply:Put her toys in an area without any wires or any thing that would look like a fun spree to her. Limit her to only a few toys so she doesnt think everything in the house belongs to her. If she continues to chew on things that arent for her. Remove her from that area.
Reply:Have you tried giving your dog some toys to chew on?
