Can teething make a dog "sad"?

My dog is teething, but the past few days he just seems so lazy, always wants to sleep...and doesn't wana play that much.. could teething be the reason for this.... or what do i do? help!!

Can teething make a dog "sad"?
Sure teething hurts! Get a small towel and wet it roll it up and pop it into the freezer. Let you dog chew on this. It really helps to relieve the sore and tender gums and also helps the new teeth pop through. Once it has defrosted rinse it out and roll it back up and refreeze.
Reply:Puppies are like babies. They need lots of sleep. They basically just eat and sleep, and may play some inbetween. Teething could cause him to be uncomfortable and not want to play (since dogs use their mouths for most play activites). But more than likely he's your normal puppy who needs lots of rest right now =)
Reply:my dog wasnt..he chewed toys and me...i heard from some people they love shoes...so box them up especially if they have a slight scent
Reply:It may be sleeping so that it pushes her pain to the back of her mind (some dogs hurt a little while teething).
Reply:As a dog owner, I know they are not happy as they are uncomfortable. Their teeth are moving around in their little jaws. So their body's response is to sleep. They will play again soon it doesn't take long for the process to complete it self. I asked my vet if I could give my Pom infant drops to help with the aching and it was OK. it only takes a few drops depending on breed and size. Also you might try the infant oral type stuff you put on your gums too. It helps. I hope this helps you and your special friend.
Reply:Awe , try the cold wash cloth thing ! Teething hurts ! Some dig into tug toys to speed it up, some want to sulk. It is a baby %26amp; hurting do what a humam Mommy would, make it comfy %26amp; loved!!
