Help with teething pain.?

My baby has been teething for the last 4 months (he's now 7 months). Since then he's not slept more than 3 hours at a time at night, he's constantly got a high whiny cry whilst chomping on things and I can't find anything to soothe the pain for him. I've tried calpol, calgel, nurofen %26amp; chamomile. He won't let me touch his gums, so I can't massage them. He's got his bottom 2 teeth, but there's no sign of any others at the moment.





Bearing in mind that I've probably got a fair few months of teething to go yet, any ideas what I can try next??

I found Ashton powders made no difference and Bonjela slipped off their gums but, Anbesol liquid (comes in a small bottle) worked wonders. Immediate relief. I even use it myself when I get ulcers etc.

Also a dummy might help the sleeping thing as is massages as they suck during their sleep.

Reply:have you tried bongela this is good for babies when there teething,you can buy teething rings from the chemist which you put in the fridge then when there cold you give it to your baby and they chew on them,bicky pegs are another way to help teething
Reply:Medised is much better than Calpol as it contains antihistamine which helps babies sleep. Also ask your pharmacist for Anbesol - it is a liquid which comes in a tiny bottle and you can rub it on to their gums and it helps numb the pain.

You can give him calpol and nurofen within 2 hours of each other i think it is.





i know its hard, ive been there, and im still there and my son is now 2 and still teething.
Reply:I used a product called ashton powder when my twins were teething you can get this from your local boots, hope it helps.
Reply:your baby is alright but keep trying to massage them to ease the pain and he'll be alright
Reply:try Aston powders you can get them in herbal or regular they were a life saver for me also get some teething biscuits an your baby will chew on these for hours ,go to your local chemist an they sell them i went to boots or try super drugs .
Reply:When my children were teething we used hurricane gel and it worked wonders. You can get it at most pharmacies. Trust me it works.
Reply:try a frozen clean washcloth with some ice chips wrapped in it,


or-my baby loves an ice cold bottle straight from the fridge
Reply:but a full banana in the freezer , when frozen let him chew on it , it worked on my son you will just have to watch him when he is eating it .

you get some teething powders from boots. they come in a small white box and cost about £2. they are on the aisle where all the teething gel is.





they are herbal and so they can be taken with other medicine (calpol etc)





also you can get those teething rings that are filled with water. you put them in the freezer and they numb the babies gums to take off some pain.

Reply:my mum always dipped our dummies in brandy before we sucked them. it worked, she never had a problem with us when we were teething. i did the same with my lil'un and il teach him to do the same with his children. it really works.

Reply:I,ve tried everything too and nothing worked.


Recently i discovered the Ashton and Parsons teething powder and it,s a god send. It,s a herbal powder so unlike other medicines you can repeat every hour or so if needed.


Plus it helps sort the horrible nappie bit out too.


You can get them from Boot,s your local chemist or even from your local supermarket if it has a pharmacy. I bought mine from Tesco and they were £2.85 i think for 20.


I recommend it it,s the only thing that,s worked so far.
Reply:I have bought a 'gummy' for my son who is teething like a dummy with a gum shield type thing (hard to explain) for him to bite and also easy to put bonjela on rather than having to rub the area with your finger. Works even tho my son doesn't have a dummy aswell
