Baby teething, what are some ways to ease his pain?

What are some different ways to help your baby's pain when they're teething?

I've tried teething rings, he's not interested, I've tried a cold wash cloth, orajel and pain relieving medicine. Are there any other tricks that I haven't tried? (Other than whiskey, lol)

Baby teething, what are some ways to ease his pain?
my nephew likes his teething ring in the freezer for an hour then give it to him.
Reply:Try giving him both soft and hard toys to chew on, use your clean finger (with trimmed nail) and rub along his gums, sometimes this counter pressure helps the pain. Have you tried teething tablets? My daughter started teething around 4 months and she wasn't able to hold a heavy teething ring to her mouth so we gave her smaller toys to hold and chew on. She also chews on her pacifier, but you have to watch them when they do that so they don't bite off small pieces! Now that she is 6.5 months she chews on EVERYTHING when she's getting a tooth coming in! Good luck :)
Reply:gripe water
Reply:have you tried the homeopathic teething tablets? How old is your baby. When my son was cutting his molars he loved frozen blueberries but it depends on the age. My son was over 12 months when he started eating berries.
Reply:they've got "teething tablets" at walmart and they work like a charm...you just dissolve a few under your baby's tounge... i hope his helps!!!
Reply:Hylands makes some teething tablets that are sweet and milky tasting and dissolve almost instantly when placed under your child's tongue. They are a homeopathic formula. Homeopathy has been around for over a hundred years, and is quite effective in treatment. Plus, it is not some chemical made by a drug company.

You can find them at a store that sells natural health foods like Whole Foods, Wild Oats, or your local natural foods store.

This product also reduces whiny behavior and the "pick me up and put me down" syndrome that can accompany teething. It will reduce the acid poo, ear aches, and help keep your child even. It is not habit forming and you can't overdose with it.

Good luck
Reply:All those suggestions are great! I would like to add baby orajel! It numbs the area a bit on the outside of the gum. You can get it over the counter in the baby section.

Blessings:)
Reply:My wife and I use two of those teething tablets just before putting our daughter to bed. We have made the routine of going to bed a habbit for her. Also, make sure when you bathe your child that the ears are clean as they have a tendency to gather "gunk" when they are teathing and constantly pulling upon their ears.
Reply:Infant's tylenol...with a clean finger, you can rub his gums to relieve some pain.
Reply:All good ideas! I'll add try an apple core - my kids and other babies have loved this. Just make sure it has plenty of apple left on it so that your baby can't get at the seeds (toxic and choking hazard). They aren't strong enough to get through the peel of a whole apple and the hourglass shape helps them hold onto it while gumming away - too funny. Good luck!
