Teething at 5 months?

my first baby never cried when he was teething...do babies teeth at 5 months..whats the best thing for it he was up all night and he had a little fever

Teething at 5 months?
Yes, babies can cut teeth at 5 months old. Yes, it is painful for them. Teething tablets are my suggestion. Make sure your hands are clean, take one tablet and place on your finger. Rub your finger on the babies gums till the tablet disappears. This should give temporary relief.

Orajel is ok, but easy for the baby to wipe out (on blanket or sucking on hands).

Froze carrot sticks may cool treats (with supervision). Frozen teethers are great. So are cold wet washcloth.

Tylenol is good for a fever, but not continuously. Using Tylenol for every little pain is not good for the kidneys of a baby or young child.
Reply:Sounds like teething. And baby's tend to cry when they teeth. It will help if you give them some baby Tylenol and baby Ora gel. Frozen teething rings also help. Good luck
Reply:Baby's can teeth at any age i gave mine Aston and parsons teething powder i think its spelt like that you can get it from chemists hope it helps.
Reply:My babies both got their first teeth at 5 monthes.

Give them a teething ring to chew on.

Check with the doctor about giving the baby a tyenol type medication. There is a special doseage for babies.
Reply:My twins both had their first 2 teeth by 4 1/2 months. Neither of them really cried either. They were more irritable than normal , and slight fever but nothing else. Our pediatrician prescribed Ibuprofen and the use baby orajel. Both seemed to help.
Reply:You can usually use any children's fever reducer but if you are in doubt ask your child's doctor.
Reply:The average is about 6 months. Some babies teeth earlier, my son was teething at 2 months, others don't until they are a year old, so yes, babies do teeth at 5 months. I found the best for late night teething was to give him tylonal or motrin. The motrin seemed to last longer than tylonal and to relieve the pain before the motrin or tylonal kicked in I would rub on infant oragel. He would complain that I was touching his sore gums but as soon as I applied it he would calm down and fall right to sleep. My son complained most at night so it makes it tough on your sleep but the steps above would help us get more sleep and it will pass, I promise. Good luck.
Reply:you can put Orajel on his gums or give him some baby Tylenol (one dropperful of the infant stuff). The Orajel helps with the topical pain and the Tylenol with the fever and the pain, too. During the day, give him something to chew on (pacifier or teething ring). My one is almost 5 months and drools like a leaky faucet. Good luck!
