Baby teething????

My son is 5 months 3 weeks old he is starting to get his first tooth. It is coming it at the top, I need to know what to give him to help get the tooth out, to help with the pain, we use baby orajel, tylenol, teething rings cold, wondering what other people have found very helpful, at walmart they have these teething finger foods but it says they have to be crawling to eat them and he is not... Is it ok to give him????

Baby teething????
My mother just discovered these 'teething tablets' for my daughter at Wal-Mart...they disolve instantly and are all-natural. I tried some first since I hate giving her any medications, but I couldn't even notice a change. I usualy only give her one dose a day if she needs it%26amp;she gets a huge smile on her face before I give her the dose, so apparently those are a safe hit with the babies! Also, she's almost 4 months, so it's safe for your babies age as well.
Reply:give him just paracetamol
Reply:If you're talking about teething biscuits, they're ok but you have to watch carefully. They will gum them and make them all mushy, but after time the saliva soaks through and the cookie can break off in a chunk which can choke them. In my opinion, only give him one if you're right there with him all the time.
Reply:They should be ok as long as u think they will agree with his underdeveloped tummy. They have these teethers that u slip on ur fingers and rub ur babys gums and it eases the pain as well as helps the tooth come in faster. Hope this helps! =]
Reply:i say try it.. baby food is usually soft enough for younger babies, it might actually help.. i have to say that even though there are so many products out there for this stage in babies most of them don't really help, to me its kinda something us parents can only do so much for the pain... just be there to comfort them..
Reply:Give him Gripe Water, available at any medical store
Reply:i agree with the person who said that you could try giving him teething biscuits. it helps sooth their gums. just remember to keep a VERY close eye on him. i also use motrin instead of tylenol it seems to work better for my son. i hope this helps, and dont worry the tooth will break thru.
Reply:I give my son sugar free popsicles. He just had one last night. I only give them to him when I can tell he's teething badly and he loves it - you can tell the coldness of it immediately relieves his pain.

I've also put a wet washcloth in the freezer for a few minutes and given him that to chew on. I suggest leaving one of the corners of the washcloth dry though, so your baby has a part of the cloth thats not wet and cold to hold on to.

I don't know about the teething biscuits, I'm interested to see what others have to say about that. I was thinking about trying them w/my son, but I was afraid he'd choke.

Good luck!
Reply:I use to wet a clean face cloth a put it in the freezer..give it to him...my kids loved it. I hope this helps :0
Reply:I think your doing exactely what you need to be doing, also you can try a clean wash cloth freezing it. They love the feeling of it. Just keep doing what your doing but don't over medicate and also the most important thing is lots-a-luv. Good Luck!!!
