I think my 3 month old girl is teething.
Her gums are harder than normal and when I massage them with my finger tip she stops crying (she's been crying a LOT)
She also chews on her pacifier rather than sucking on it and she's chewing on anything she can get into her mouth or that I hold there for her to chew on.
can they be teething this early? is she too young to try teething tablets? what are other things I can try to relieve her pain if that's what it is?
3 month old teething?
My second son got his first tooth at 3 months! I was surprised too! My 1st son got his first tooth at 6 mos.
To be honest I never used the teething tablets.
A couple things I can suggest is to take a clean washrag and get it wet. Then ring it out, fold it, and put it in a baggie before putting it in the freezer. After it is frozen take it out of the baggie and let her chew on the folded washrag. It will help sooth her. You can also freeze the teething rings with the liquid inside and let her chew on them.
Reply:There is no SET age at teething~ she's just getting an early start... I'd ask my ped BEFORE giving her teething tablets...
but CONGRATS!! She's getting them! :)
Reply:I am wondering the exact same thing about my 3 month old son!! He has been doing a lot of the same things you mentioned, and slobbering A LOT! I am interested to see what people answer with, because I need to know, too!
I know one thing my son likes are those little fluid-filled teethers that you can freeze. Good luck, and I'll be checking back....
Reply:Yeah she could be. I put ice in a washcloth and rub the gums.
Reply:It sounds like she is teething. Don't give her any medicine without talking to your doctor first. But you can put a teething ring in freezer for a while before giving to her to chew on. The cold will help with the pain and swelling.
good luck and congrats on your baby
Reply:yep, some babies are even born with teeth.
Hylands Teething tablets are excellent! Start with smallest dose, they can cause insomnia if given max amt
Reply:Hey! Rylan is doing the same thing. He wants to chew on someone's finger all the time and is sucking his pacifier like I've never seen him do it! I gave him a little Tylenol yesterday because he was so fussy with it. They are probably teething, but they can teeth for a long time before they actually get a tooth! My older boys both have to go to the dentist today, maybe he will have some suggestions! I'll ask.
