My 6 month old daughter has been showing the "signs" of teething for like 2 months now....
drooly
snotty
cranky
gnawing on a lot of things
unexplained spike in temp (only 1 day at most)
Lately she's added
tugging on the ears
snot that won't quit
%26amp; another fever
she's also crying a lot more %26amp; sleeping a lot today
Are these REALLY signs of teething? I feel so bad for my little girl %26amp; just want the tooth to come through to give her some relief.
I don't want to give her orajel if it's not teething...also, is it NORMAL orajel or is there a baby version?
Are these REALLY teething signs?
Sounds like teething to me too...and she's about the right age. They do make a special baby orajel (don't use adult, it's too strong). Be prepared for it to make her mad though, most babies don't like the taste. There are a few other things you can try though, before medicating her. Try wetting a rag with cold water and putting it into the freezer until it's really cold. Then take it out and let her chew on it. There are also those water filled teething rings that you refrigerate and let her chew on. They also make herbal teething tablets. I'm not sure what the brand is, but I do know that they work. They are tiny little white tablets that dissolve very quickly. They calm the baby down and help them relax. They can be a little hard to find, but try Walgreens or other drug stores. Every once in awhile, you can find them at Walmart. Good luck!
Reply:They sound like teething symptoms. Yes they do make a baby orajel.
Reply:let her gnaw on frozen waffles. they numb the pain and the waffly indents catch the drool and theyre not toxic
Reply:They definitely sound like teething symptoms but you may want to take her to her doc to make sure she doesn't have an ear infection. Also, teething symptoms are a lot like cold symptoms without the cough. Many think that it is actually a cold that is brought on by the depress in the immune system when teeth are coming through. Get her ears checked to be safe. Good luck, I hope your little one gets relief soon.
Reply:Could very well be teething, but you may want to have a look in her ears, as these are also symptoms of an ear infection. If you don't want to go to the doctor, you can get an otoscope at Walgreens and look yourself.
I would skip the oragel and try a homeopathic teething tablet (Hyland's is one brand) and damp, frozen washcloths to chew on.
Reply:Sounds like teething. Yes, the frozen wash clothes worked for us too. And the Hyland's and Baby Orajel. Don't worry about freezing the ring. Just make sure with these rings, she doesn't puncture them, if it has fluid in it.
Reply:yesh !!!
