Teething baby…?

I think my baby maybe teething, but I’m not sure. How can I tell? Every time he cries he grabs his mouth, and my wife says that it looks like a tooth could be coming in. If He is teething, can anyone give me some advice please? He is almost 4 months.

Teething baby…?
It definitely could be teething. If he is irritable, and unhappy, then that is probably it. Look at his gums, are they red and/or swollen?

The best things I have learned with my two are baby Tylenol(a life saver!), Hylands Teething Tablets, and let him chew/suck on a wet wash cloth that has been put in the refrigerator for 5 minutes or so. All of these will soothe the gums, but not totally get rid of the pain. You may be in for a few sleepless nights.

Four months is not too early for teething. My son got his first tooth at two months old.

Good luck!!
Reply:You could wet a clean cloth with cold water and let him suck on it and give him a proper dose of baby tylenol.
Reply:try giving him a ring toy. Or Nook to gum on.
Reply:Early teething is normal for babies, and your baby is one of them. U need to buy your baby a teether that can be bought in any department store in baby sections. When my baby boy is in stage of teething, i let the teether put in the ref (freezer) and when it's hard i let my son play with it and biting it help him to ease the pain. Good Luck. Try it urself.
Reply:Go to the grocery store or any health food store and ask for Hyland's Teething Tablets. I swear you will see a difference. They help calm your baby and there is less irritation. They will sleep better also.

He is teething, it sure sounds like it.

Good luck to you.
Reply:They have teetheing rings that you can buy. Also I would not use a washcloth because strands might come off and choke the baby. Check with doctor and he might give you some numbing medicine for your baby
Reply:Infant Tylenol, Baby Orajel, and probably too young to hold a cooling teething ring but can try it.
Reply:4 months is a little early for teething. Have you had a feel around in there? Normally if they are getting teeth their gums will have a "mushy" feel and sometimes you can feel a lump of the tooth coming through. Babies get used to the pain of teething so don't stress too much. Baby tylenol and teething tablets work well and give him lot's of cold things to chew on that won't break into small pieces (frozen bagels until he chews them too much and then replace, etc.....). Hope that helps.
Reply:Your baby needs something to chew on. My kids always seemed to like the teething toys that have water in them and you can freeze them. There are also hard biscuits for teething babies. They are messy, but my kids loved them.
Reply:my daughter did the same thing. She actually started teething at four months, but nothing actually popped through until around 9 months. Check his mouth for bumps on his gums, sometimes the area looks a little white. If you're not sure where the pain is in your baby, go to your local drug store and get teething tablets. You put 2 or 3 in the baby's mouth and they dissolve instantly and numb the entire mouth. I find them to be more helpful for the child because of the fact they numb the whole mouth. give him a cold wet washcloth to chew on- wet the cloth and put it in the freezer for 15-30 minutes as that will soothe his pain. You can also give him some infant tylenol for pain control. If nothing else works, take him to his pediatrician. He may have a sore throat. (we just went through that 2 weeks ago) good luck, and I hope your little one feels better soon!
Reply:Drooling is a big sign as well as wanting to chew on his toys. Touch his gums and if they are hard, then he's teething. Infant Tylenol helps and Hyland teething gel.
Reply:I have a five month old who is teething. He likes to chew on a bib or a damp washcloth and often his fingers.

Another thing that soothes him sometimes is my rubbing his gums with my finger (make sure your hands are clean of course).
Reply:A good teething thing is to take a clean wash cloth, get it wet, put it in the freezer to harden, and then let them chew on it. I tried EVERYTHING and this was the the only thing that worked....
