Teething baby?

my daughter will be 4 months old in a week and I was wondering if it is possible that she is teething. She has been having trouble sleeping at night, and will often get hysterical for no apparent reason. She is constantly drooling, and always wants our hands, or her own hands in her mouth. She will not take a teething ring, maybe to hard? anyone have any sugestions on how to ease my little girls pain?

Teething baby?
Yes it is possible she is teething. I know the feeling about her not wanting to take a teething ring, my children didnt either. Try a popcicle, the kind in the plastic tube. Dont cut it open, just let her gnaw on it for awhile. The cold will help numb her gums. Also, you should invest in some baby orajel for both night and day. A cold damp wash-cloth also can help. Before you put her to bed at night you can also give her some infant tylenol, but first ask your doctor about the proper dosage for her age and weight. I hope this was helpful for you.
Reply:Put something cold in her mouth and that should help her feel better. I'm sure she is teething. Sometimes a cold towel will help or a little ice or cold nipple to suck on.
Reply:Teething is hard to deal with as the teeth move alot before showing in the gum line. She is too young for teething gel isn't she? I think babies all get teeth at different ages, I am sure mine were all 5 months. Just let her chew on whatever she will take to ease the pain and give her panadol.
Reply:hi there my son is going through the samething right now my dr told me to give him baby tylenol and ibuprofen every 4to 6hrs for his pain when he needed it also i would try some teetheing drops and caplets and your baby will get irrtable and will be quite clingy and want you alot so give her a binkie and anything cold and some tylenol they say it could last a few weeks to a month give or take i wish you luck i feel you pain as well!!!
Reply:my daughter is close to the same age. (5 months in 3 days)she started going through the screamer phase at 3 months. since then the drool has come (along with spit bubbles). her hands have been in her mouth since she discovered them.

usually if they are teething they'll run a slight fever, pull on their ears, scream non-stop for about a week or more. In their mouth you will be able to tell if its swollen and usually you can see teeth coming in.

if she is indeed teething try oralgel for babies. I wouldn't use it unless you know for sure she's teething.or those mesh chew bags you can put fruit in. i think you can get them at babies r us. My daughter chews on everything she can fit in her mouth. Mostly cloth books and her hands. no teeth yet and she's been like this for around 2 months.

Good luck.
Reply:It's very possible that your baby is teething. You can goto the store and get those teething rings put it in the fridge and let her chew away at that don't put it in the freezer. I made that mistake.
Reply:yeh..this happens to my daughter also..the best way is teether toy..just keep the teether toy in fridge.then give her to bite..this will b so comfortable for the solen gums..its normal dear for all the children..but dont let her to put finger inside mouth..this will make her teeth very big when she grow up..instead dont force her...just divert her by giving some things in hand..always keep in mind..only when we force children they bcom more aggresive...once u know she is going to get teeth, during nite time after feeding give her some water so that her teeth won't get spoiled...bcos of excess sugar in formula milk..
