Teething Questions....Help!?

My daughter has been showing signs of teething for a while but it doesn't seem to have bothered her till just recently. She's about to hit 5 months old and the past 3 nights has started waking up every 1 1/2-2 hours, before she used to sleep through the night from about 9 PM till 7AM with the occasional diaper change at 4 AM.

It's not that terribly hard to get her to go back to sleep but she will wake up crying and trying to chew my fingers off. She used to drink a 4-5 oz bottle every 2-3 hours but now when she gets hungry she will only drink about 2 oz and then want me to breastfeed her and she ends up taking short naps afterwards. Can anyone out there offer any suggestions/advice on what I can do to help her out? Or to help us sleep through the night again? It's getting so frustrating, my and my husband are starting to talk gibberish to each other from lack of sleep lol. She has teething toys but they don't exactly seem to help her any.

Teething Questions....Help!?
Hylands Teething tablets is what worked for me when my little one was teething. They dissolve instantly. I would also give her a bit (half of a dose for her weight) of infant Tylenol along with it before bed. You can find them in the vitamin section at Wal-mart and at most drug stores in the baby section. Our ped recomended them to me and does not recomend the numbing type gels cause it also numbs the gag reflexes.
Reply:If she teething you could rub some tyenol on her gums where she teething at. Or the rubbing thing they have at the baby section.
Reply:I rub some bourbon on their gums and it soothes them alot longer than orajel. Just pour a little on your finger then rub it on . You can also try a cold carrot peeled or a wet wash cloth . These worked for me. As for sleeping all night good luck . My son has been teething for awhile and he still dont sleep all night.
Reply:rub baby orajel on her gums, or wet some baby cloths then put it in the freezer, or just buy some teething tablets
Reply:My daughter did exactly as youve descibed here a month ago when she was 5 and a half months!

Have you tried teething granules? Teethers didnt work for my little one but these did. I use Ashton and Parsons

Im not sure where your from but they are available in the Uk in lots of stores.

If youre from US then im pretty sure walmart to a teething granule (we have walmart in UK but its called Asda here)

Also massaging my daughters gums with a toothbrush for ten minutes before bed helped her drift into a peaceful sleep!

Good luck and it will pass in time!
Reply:Her teeth are trying to break through the gums.

Freeze a wet cloth (roll) and let her chew on it before putting her down for the night and give her a little Tylenol. The cold will reduce some of the swelling which may help her sleep a little longer.

As soon as the teeth break the skin/gums, she probably go back to sleeping all night.

Just hang in there!

PS The first set of teeth are the hardest to deal with. After that, they don't seem to bother the little ones quite so bad. New Thing?
Reply:try the baby orajel with the teething brush that comes with it. just brush her gums with it like every 3/4 hours a day or 30 minutes before you put her to bed. it should give you and your husband some relief at night. also try to take turns on who will get up and try to calm her down that night. that way ..at least one of you will have a good start in the morning. (if you can). good luck !!!!
