Teething baby?
From what I've heard, cross teething is simply a term used to describe the order in which a baby's teeth come in. It is most common for babies between the ages of 6-7 months to get their first teeth... the bottom central incisors... followed by the top central incisors. Then come the four side incisors that come in around the front teeth around 8 months. After this comes the four back molars around 10-14 months followed by the canines (the pointy teeth) between 16-20 months. Lastly, there are four more molars in the far back that usually come in around 24-30 months. Of course all babies are different and will get their teeth at different times and in different orders! My son didn't get his first tooth until about 10 months! A baby who is "cross teething" might get his/her molars in or the side incisors before ever getting those four front central teeth. Cross teething is used to describe when a baby's teeth are cutting out of the most common or typical order.
I hope this helps! I couldn't find a website that goes into greater detail... the term "cross teething" may not be a technical or medical term. Please take care! :o)
