Teething this early??/?

I was just wondering before I call his doctor, my son.. whose just 2 months old is having some problems, i guess you could say. He's constantly pull at his mouth, putting his fingers inside like rubbing his gums? I don't really know how to explain it.. and every 3 to 4 hours he eats formula, when it gets close to the time.. he starts crying(as usual) like he's hungry but when you try to give him the bottle, he won't suck the nipple of it. My mom thinks he's teething? could he be teething at 2 months old???? my doctors office doesn't open until 1pm.. so, I thought I would give Yahoo Answers a shot! thanks so much!

Teething this early??/?
YES!! he is teething its ok. Every baby is different. my daughter had her first tooth at 3 months. just give him things to suck on he will be ok. thy also have some creme to put on his gums in the pharmacy area just ask.
Reply:sounds like teething to me. I was born with teeth.
Reply:yes he can be. i would give him a cold teething ring and stock up on teething tablets and oregel baby. good luck.
Reply:Absolutely! I have a nephew that was actually born with his teeth already coming through. In today's world, I guess anything is possible.
Reply:Sure, he could be teething-and it sounds like he is! My girls got their teeth really early and I remember reading that some babies are even born with teeth coming in!

Poor little guy-let him chew on a cool washcloth or put a teething toy in the fridge-the kind that are filled with water are good.

Good luck!

Reply:no my son is three months and loves to suck his fingers . i think it is more this . I nurse and he will try to suck me and his fingers and then once he gets his fingers he drops my like a hot potato
Reply:I wouldn't think that they would teeth at 2 months. But maybe

try wiping his gums with a cool wet cloth and see if that helps.
Reply:Yes he could be teething and probably is. I experienced the same thing with my kid and the doctor said that although she wouldn't be getting teeth for a while she could very well be teething.
Reply:He can be teething but it can be other things too. A possibility could be an ear infection. A lot of babies will refuse the bottle if they have one because the sucking on the nipple causes discomfort. His jaw could hurt. I know you said you were going to call the doctor and that is just what I would suggest. Good luck!! Oh yeah, and babies CAN teeth as early as 2 months. Some are even born with teeth. Check to see if he has a fever too.. Teething may cause a VERY low grade fever, but they usually don't. Any time I talked to my daughter's pediatrician they always had me check for a fever for that reason..
Reply:He could be teething, my son started to do the same thing around that time, but he's to small for teeting rings, so what I do is I rub my finger around his gums and i also give him a cold rag to suck on. It really calms him down, when he gets a little older you can give him a teether.
Reply:gurl i seen infants born w/teeth. So he probably is teething. Teething can cause fevers, so watch for that.If it's painful for him to eat, get some baby oral jel, put it on his gums a few mins. before he eats, or give a cold wash towel, in a zip lock bag, or get some teething rings, put them in the fridge. But before givein him any medications make sure it's safe to give to yo 2mon. old son. Good luck

Reply:Possible, yes. Some babies (as mentioned) are born with teeth, some start teething as early as 10 weeks. My daughter is almost 4 1/2 months and drools like a faucet and sucks on her fingers throughout the day...The doc said this is normal for her age and in fact said that she isn't teething, but doctors aren't always right. Could be that your son is a fast learning, and has figured out he has hands!! It's very fasinating to a baby when they discover them and can get them into their mouth...so, possibly teething, possibly a fast learner!!

The painful part of teething is the cutting of the teeth, so what you can do is rub your finger along the gums to see if you feel a tooth cutting (coming in)...that's what I was told at our 4 month appt.

Good luck!
Reply:Yes. He maybe teething...my mother told me I cut my first tooth at 3 months old. Try baby orajel, teething tablets, or teething liquid. You buy all of these at your local pharmicy.
