My 7-month old son is teething right now, and showing the obvious signs -- drooling, chewing on his fingers, red swollen gums around the teeth that are coming in(3), and waking up in the middle of the night screaming. He has been having a runny, green, and mucousy stool over the last 24 hours. As a result it has caused an awful blotchy red diaper rash all over his bottom which I been treating with diaper rash cream. He aready has 4 teeth, but he didn't suffer of diarrhea. Is this the kind of diarrhea that is often associated with teething, or is it possible it is caused by something else? %26amp; What can make the diahrria go away?
Teething %26amp; Diarrhea??
There is still no link to prove that diahrrea has anything to do with teething but my son experience it before too. He poop watery stool 3 times a day for 3 days. But after that it stopped. As long as there is no white jelly-like stuffs in his stool then his ok and make sure the poopingdon't last for more than 5 days or else it will be something else. Rash ,drooling, chewing on his fingers, red swollen gums around the teeth that are coming in(3), and waking up in the middle of the night screaming are common syptoms
Reply:I can only say keep him hydrated. Call your dr to see how much pedialyte he can have.
Reply:It could be, but I would keep an eye on it. It is very easy for a baby to dehydrate and I would take him to a doctor if you are in the least bit worried. Speak to your pharmacy and see what they advise, if you don't think it is bad enough for the doctors.
