Infant teething?

my five month old is teething, and to the disbelief of his doctors he is cutting his molar teeth first, he's constantly in pain. i've tried tylenol, orajel, teethers, frozen food, frozen wash clothes, johnson and johnson liquid teething medicine, and the teething tablets..nothing has worked any suggestions?

Infant teething?
A vacation for you and your husband. Leave him with the in-laws.Lol.

Otherwise no, you have tried everything. The poor guy is getting the tough ones first, a total shock to his system. How about playing soothing music, hold him and gently rub the side of his face with your knuckles. Gently sway to the music and he may forget about his pain -temporarily.

I hope they cut soon, Good Luck.
Reply:Your doing it all right. All I can think of that's left is keep bugging the baby's doctor. Maybe there's a stronger teeth med. he can give. Even temporary. Good Luck. Be strong teething is tough.
Reply:Prayer! I'll start. God bless you.
Reply:my doctor recommended frozen mini bagels - but since you've tried everything already - there's not much more you can do. I wouldn't use medicines, though, it's just too dangerous (over-medicating) to chance.

It won't last long - before you know it he will be back to his normal self.
Reply:ok .. dont look at this answer like im crazy .. but my sons pediatrician said if nothing else works .. use anal ease. i know .. crazy. but people have been doing it for a long time. just enough to rub on his gums .. and it`ll numb the area.
Reply:This is going to sound horrible but I've seen it work. Back in my grandmother's day they didn't have the orajels or the anbesols, instead they would soak cotton with whiskey and rub it on an infants gums. The whiskey isn't enough for the child to actually injest, just enough to rub on their gums. As I said I've seen it work. My cousin went through all of the medications, even to rubbing liquid Tylenol on her son's gums but nothing worked, she tried frozen waffles, bagles, popscicles, wash cloths, teethers, etc. Still he screamed. My uncle showed up with a small bottle of Wild Turkey, put some on a cotton swab and rubbed his gums with it...within seconds the baby was quiet. When she took him to the doctor's the next visit she told the doctor about the whiskey, the doctor replied "That's what my mom did when I was teething". I'm not advocating it, just tossing it out there, I don't remember my daughter really having too much of a problem teething.
Reply:I had the same problem with my oldest, I finally came across something that works wonders, and you can buy it over the counter. The name of it is HURRICANE (I think the creator of it should be given the noble peace prize.) Some places you might have the pharmacists to give it to you from behind the counter.
