My son is a little over 4 months, and he is drooling excessively, waking up frequently (though he's not fussing when he wakes) and he's had really watery stools for a day... I can't feel anything coming in, but could this be the beginning of teething? When did your kids begin to teethe? Just curious. Thanks!
Teething baby?
both of my boys started teething around 4 months. Drooling was rampant. If it continues to affect his bowls you could try giving him some mashed bananas in the morning to help with the diarrhea.
Reply:my son got his first 2 bottom teeth at 4 months..my daughter didnt get her first teeth until she ws 8 months
Reply:sounds like hes teething but teething can take weeks before a tooth erupts... try a cool teether or cool washcloth for him to bite on if there is a tooth it will help it to come through and ease some of his pain..
good luck!!
Reply:My daughter started to having teething symptoms at 3 months, with drooling and fussiness, but her teeth didn't actually come in until months and months later. I think she was actually 7 months old when the teeth started coming in.
Reply:sounds more like a cold to me, if he has a stuffy nose that would be the cause of the drooling. 4 months seems a little soon to start teething though, but then again all babies are different and begin teething at different times.
Reply:It could be. My daughter was coming up to three months when we found her first teeth in her mouth, we didn't even know that she was teething, and pretty much all of her teeth were like that- but a few of them made her moody and irritable.
Get the Calpol and Bonjela ready....
Reply:It's very possible that he could be teething. Drooling is definitely a sign of that! Watery stools are signs of teething too but they aren't a good sign of teething. Fever, vomiting, and watery stools are all things that can accompany teething but they are things that are harmful and he should be looked at by a doctor.
Reply:It starts with drooling and then the pain comes.
Reply:The drooling sounds like the being of teething, but the watery stools are probably due to needing more solid foods. Talk to your Dr. about it because that is not right.
Reply:I have 3 boys ages 5,2,and 6 months. My 5 year old started at 4 or 5 months my 2 year old started at 6 months and my 6 month old started at 5 months. I think that they go through it at diffrent times and some are worse then others
Reply:All babies are different when it comes to teething. For instance, my best friend's son was 4 months when he started teething and he's almost a year now and has i believe 4 teeth already. For me, my daughter started teething when she turned 9 months (10-31-06). He could be teething, because babies do have diaharrea when they start to teeth, because my daughter started have diaharrea when she started teething, and now she's over it because her tooth is almost all the way in.
Reply:Mine is 7 months and not a tooth yet. My nephew was 10 months old before he started getting his. I'm really hoping my baby waits several more months since we're still breastfeeding. OUCH!!
Reply:4 months sounds about right for teething. Just give your son some cold things to suck on. Ease his pain a little. The toys that you freeze work pretty well.
Reply:Yep, sounds like teeth. And could be a while before anything pops through...
