My 12 week old is teething and the only relief she gets is when I fill the hollow part of her Soothie pacifiers with water and freeze them. (I've tried EVERYTHING - read my other questions)
I have searched for water or gel filled pacifiers for teething. Nuby makes one but after looking at it closely, the outer edge of the pacifier that touches the face is gel filled...not the actual part that goes IN the mouth. (???)
Anyone know of a water or gel filled pacifier or do i have to keep sticking her waterfilled soothis in the freezer?
Teething pacifier?
I have never seen a gel filled pacifier that you can freeze but I used to give my son a pacifier with little nubs on it, It looked like a rasberry and it was for teething to massage the gums and it gave him a lot of relief. But You have a great idea with the water filled frozen soothies! I will definately try that with my new baby!
Reply:HUN AFTER MY OWN EXPERIENCES I SAY IF IT WORKS KEEP DOING IT . MY DAUGHTER DOESN'T USE A PACI AND I WISH FOR THAT REASON SHE DID.
Reply:At the store you can get a medicine pacifier..you can fill that with water and freeze it and then the water won't run out when it defrosts..GL
Reply:great idea btw! i noticed that even in normal use water can get in and out of most paci's; my thought is that you'd need to be really sure about sterilization - rubber ones get wrecked if you boil them , but if you use silicone ones you can boil 'em up real good . the last thing you want is for her to get thrush ( trust me on this, i btdt ) and its a very oppurtunistic little bug . i used to pull the paci's all to bits to sterilise them . i know that in some places they recomend against sterilising feeding gear , after a certain age - in some places ; but i reckon if its soft and goes in there mouth it needs to be sterilised no matter what age ! i have given babies zoopa dupas to bite on ( basiscally frozen juice that comes in a plastic tube ) through the wrapper - you can wrap a washer around it to , for added texture . they come to appreciate different textures in time .
gooduck , btw .
Reply:ok im gonna give you a luagh when my baby girl was teething
she would bite holes in everything
so i stated giving her a wet cold wash cloth put it in freezer for five minutes
or a piece of beef jerky because they can bite through it
Reply:That is the only thing that will help my son too! Best trick. There are pacifiers with like honey in them but they can cause death. My suggestion is keep doing what you're doing. Easy trick for an hour of relief.
