My son is 4 months and 1 week old. He's been teething since right around 3 months old. On and off. Some days it's worse than others, but the last week he's been teething HORRIBLY ever day. Today is the worst ever. He's fussed all day (which is so unlike him.) He's never cried all day (it's been on and off, but fussing is almost constant) until today. He's biting EVERYTHING he gets his hands on. Including my nipples when we breastfeed. He was fine after I gave him some Tylenol, but as soon as it wore off he was back to fussing again. How long is it going to be until the teeth come through? You can't see white yet, but you can see two little bumps on his bottom gums where the teeth will be and you've been able to see them for awhile.
What else can I do. I've given him Hyland's teething tablets, but they aren't any better than 10 minutes worth of relief and you're only supposed to give them every 2 hours. What can I do?? I feel so bad and I'm at a loss of what to do.
4 month teething SO bad...what do I do?
I've been giving Illyana cold teething rings and a cold washcloth to help her. We can see 2 that are cutting, so the pediatrician says we can use a little Orajel!
Try the Orajel! Tylenol didn;t help Illyana either! Hope he feels better!
Reply:with my 4 month old I wash my fingers and rub his gums. He loves it and bites on them really hard. It comforts him alot. Also I buy those teething rings that you freeze, but he likes chewing on my finger and having me rub the areas where I can feel them trying to come through. Hopefully soon!
Reply:hes old enough for Orajel i would try that
Reply:At 6 months, you can introduce Infant Motrin. This lasts 6-8 hours and is a godsend. For now, continue the 4 hour doses of Tylenol, give frozen washcloths, and time.
Oragel has shown to be dangerous in infants. I have never used it in the 3 babies, ever.
Reply:try rubbing some baby Orajel on his gums, also you can try cold teething rings. if that doesn't work, try something WARM on his gums, like a warm wash cloth or something. one of these things SHOULD work. good luck and hope he feels better soon.
