Teething already?

when do puppies start teeth?

My puppy is 3months old (shih tzu) and today I noticed that he likes to put everything in his mouth and chew on it....even my fingers?

I'm not sure if he is teething...he has 4 teeth on top and 4 teeth on the bottom. If he is teething how long will it last?

Teething already?
He is definitely teething. My Rat Terrier is 5 months old and in the last 2 weeks I've found 4 of the baby teeth he's lost. Like babies they loose their baby teeth and get permanent teeth. I'm guessing this goes on till 6 to 9 months but I'm not sure about that. I give my furbaby chew toys like raw hides and some dogs like to chew on the kong toys. Mine won't chew on any kind of rubber toy even the kong. I also have a rope toy for him to chew on when his gums are too sensitive for the raw hides. Even so he still sometimes just wants my fingers. My furbaby started chewing at about 2 months and hasn't quit yet! Good luck and enjoy your furbaby!
Reply:Puppies start to teeth earlier then 3 months but it does last past 3 months.
Reply:He should be teething right around now and it often lasts for up to 2 months. Make sure he's got lots of things he can chew on - his gums are really sore right now. Try giving him an old face cloth that's been soaked in water and frozen - that soothes their gums.
Reply:If he's got teeth but not all of them, yes i'd assume he's teething.
