How long does it take for a tooth to start showing if they are teething? I dont know if my baby is teething or not she is 3 months old. She has all the symptoms but it has been like 3 weeks now and she has no teeth. What do you think?
Teething question!!?
Babies can teeth for weeks even months before a tooth comes through. My oldest started at 5 months will all the signs of getting a tooth yet she didn't get her first tooth until two days before her first birthday, I was ready to call a dentist. My son started at about 2 months with all of it and had four teeth at 3 months. You really can't predict when a tooth will appear. The main thing is to keep the baby comfy. Use frozen wash clothes and teething rings, another thing is frozen waffles. If she is acting like that doesn't help then try tylenol. They also sell a teething tablet at Wal-Mart. It is 100% natural and it helps some.
Reply:Babies can start teething anywhere from 2-3 months before a tooth actually appears. My 9 month old started a t 3 months and his first tooth appeared at 5 months. Something that worked best for us is frozen wet washcloths. Good luck.
Reply:A baby can "Teeth" for Months. It might take a while for the teeth break through.
Reply:It can take quite some time for the tooth to show. My son had all the symptoms for a long time he never really got his tooth in to where i could see it untill he was about 5 or 6 months old.
Reply:For us, it takes too long! lol Our son was around 3 months when he would drool and drool lot's! Then when he got really fussy-it would last probably a whole week, then finally when the tooth broke through, he was okay and happier than ever... then starting it all over again for each tooth. Once his teeth came through, it was like 1 tooth every 2 weeks for the first four teeth- but all children are different. Let's just say he's 1 yr old now, and still teething, and still pretty fussy when it happens! Tylenol is really the only thing that helps for us. But teethers, cold rags, drinking from a glass, all helps a little.
You'll see teeth within the next couple of months at least!
Reply:Each kid is different and some gums are tougher to cut thru. Just keep giving her cool things to chew on, or cold washcloths to suck on. I never used a painkiller with my kid, but others may need some. Check her fever and make sure it is teething and not infection. You can ask her doctor if serious concerns show up.
Reply:she's got the teeth...they just have to break through the gums...which is why she's probably fussy and drooling and crying sometimes...ONCE that first tooth breaks through...the others won't hurt her as much!!
Reply:It can take a long time for the first tooth to break through. My son began teething around 3 months and his first tooth didn't come until he was 5 1/2 months.
Reply:Yes it is possible %26amp; even likely. Try frozen teething rings and gripe water if you must ( lotsa alcohol in gripe water ) remember that the rigs thaw quickly so you need several to keep up.
Reply:three months old seems a bit young to start teething, it usually starts around the end of the fourth month... but there are always those early starters. if she has a runny nose and is crying... and tylenol doesn't help, try switching to motrin. if she has a fever, give the pediatrician a call.
Reply:do you feel any little lumps under the gums, my so showed signs and had little lumps way before any tooth actually broke thru.
Reply:My Little Girl Is Now 4 Months. She Was Having All The Symptoms. Drooling, Cracky...She Started This About A Month Ago. 3 Months Old. Her First Tooth Broke Through A 1 1/2 Weeks Ago. Now She Is Trying To Get Her Second Botton Tooth In.
Reply:i used a safe teeth-er. i would cut up fresh fruit, like, bananas, apples, peaches, pears, and freeze it. out it in the teeth-er and baby was happy. you can also use blueberries and grapes with out the choking hazard. i included the link for what i used. i kept 3 different tops. one for fruits, veggies , and meats. don't freeze the meats though, just put meats and cooked veggies in, to introduce baby to the taste. p.s. don't put an Oreo in it, makes one hell of a mess
