What kind of teething medicines to give my grandchild since he is teething now?

M grandchild is 4 and a half months old and I was wondering what kind of teething powder, i heard of teethina, can I give him to relieve him of the pain he gets while teething.

Cold Wash Cloth doesn't work really well.

A teething ring: Nothing helps at all.

What else can I do to help him out?

What kind of teething medicines to give my grandchild since he is teething now?
I was given the advice to try banana popsicles. I was a bit weary at first because, I had never given my baby anything other than what the doctor recommended. One evening she was sooo miserable, I decided to try it. She loved the flavor and the ice cold helped her relax and forget about the pain. Now, instead of giving her the banana pops, I get her the "real fruit" pops. And ofcourse, I never let her eat the whole thing, we "share" it, but mostly I eat it all, and she gets a few tastes, and that works for her. Good luck!!
Reply:My two oldest liked orajel. There is also Highlands Teething Tablets.
Reply:teething tablets works great
Reply:Baby orajel, maybe Tylenol for infants. Try a combo such as orajel or Tylenol and a teething ring that has been child in the fridge.
Reply:Hylands teething tabs, found at most health food stores, and some grocery stores, they work great! They are an all natural, homeopathic option instead of infant tylenol. My baby is teething now, and doesn't like to chew on anything cold. Try the teething tabs, they are amazing. Good luck!
Reply:The best choice is to call the doctor. Teething babies can develope ear discomfort as well as sore gums and jaws. "Baby Anbesol"is the best over the counter choice. It is a tolerable grape flavor, is pediatrican recommended and is also alchohol free. The child's doctor may recommend a liquid pain reliever like Tylanol. Never give the baby dabs of pure alchohol like the old wives tales say to do. I had a friend who's baby was slightly poisoned. My kids did just fine with the Anbesol, and I have used it for myself. Good Luck!!
Reply:Don't give him any medicines! It is totally unnecessary, just give him something to bite, a peeled cold carrot is a good example (carrot, not baby carrot, or the baby might choke), or even bread
Reply:Call your doctor. We use Motrin. It has pain relief and it also reduces swelling.
Reply:My personal suggestion would be to peel and cut apples into wedges and boil them. then place them in the freezer. Thaw out slightly before giving them to the child, its a healthy snack, the sweetness will encourage him to eat it, and the coldness will feel good on his sore gums. Good luck
Reply:Try baby Orajel. It works great.
Reply:Teething tablets, Highlands or any other brand the store sells.

They are homeopathic, so it basically means they are herbal so there is no bad side affects.

They work wonders, my daughter started teething at 2.5 months and this was a life saver.

Do not use Orajel, it can harden the gums or worse than that it can cause numbness in the throat that may prevent baby from swallowing. Plus, the pain may be relieved for 10 minutes then it's back and you can only apply orajel 3-4 times a day so I don't feel that it's even effective.
