My 3 month old is has recently become extrememly unsettled all night. She is teething and won't even drink much milk at night so it must be a combination of hunger and teething pain that is keeping her up. Is it safe to try some baby calpol maybe that will help settle her if she is in pain? Any other advice would be appreciated!

Reply:here are some of the things I did with my daughter... She is 10 months and teething right now... Put a damp face cloth in the freezer and when it is cold enough give it to her.. She will suck and chew on this. Also I give my daughter some motrin when she seems like she is real distress.. Teething rings are wonderful also...
Best of luck and it will go away eventually
Reply:I'm sure there is some kind of kiddies bonjela or something to rub into their gums, ask the chemist.
Reply:I have a four month old and he's teething also, well during the day a teething ring will help a little and you should give her some baby oral gel to help relieve the pain, some people even suggest some baby pain reliever like Motrin or baby Tylenol....i gave my baby some baby Tylenol one time I'm not to be on giving him medicine but if he really needs it then hey....
Reply:Could it be 3month colic.Mine all played up a that age it was their tummies rather than their teeth.Ask the pharmacist or your health visitor they know what products and doses that are appropriate. Our youngest(great grandson) is 12mths and is always having something keeping him awake his teething has been terrible.Every tooth has been cut with a runny nose ,rash, and fever. He has got 8 now and more are on the way . We have given him calpol on drs instructions plus ibuprofen(now he is over 6mths) as he even developed a kind of arthritis in his leg which the hospital put down to his teeth.Get some calgel that will help also.,and a cold teething ring. You really do feel helpless, trying one thing after another to settle the poor little things. Its so tiring for you as well .I really would get some expert advice it will make you feel better knowing you are doing the best for your little treasure. This will not last for ever although it will seem like it!.I hope you soon get a good nights sleep.
Reply:nina sumbody had this Q on the other nite our day and it was very good... search and you will find... good luck... just type calpol and look for the earliest post
Reply:Had the same problem with my son (now 5). We used Bonjella. Just rub some of the jel onto the gums and it deadens the pain.
Reply:Hi, my baby is 5 months and also teething. I haven't found something yet that worked. I do have one piece of advice: if using a teething formula be sure that your baby doesn't rub her eyes after having her hands in her mouth. My baby did that after I gave him some teething formula (it gets rubbed on the gums) and then his one eye was red and a bit swollen. Not a nice sight and I got a real good fright!
Reply:Try teething toys from pharmacies.
Reply:A little calpol should do the trick if not i used Denttonox teething gel for my little boy it was a god send i used to just rub it in and with in a minuite he seemed a lot happier, i found with him teething rings were no good but then again every baby is differant but give it a try it cant make things worse. Good luck x x x
Reply:A 2.5 ml spoonful of calpol before bed is fine as she is three months, should tell you this on the bottle. My daughter started teething at 8 wks and I know how terrible it can be during the nights. I used to take dentinox teething gel to the bedroom with me and apply it before she had her bottle, she had calpol before bed and generally drank all her milk. I personally think the best teethers are made by Tommee Tippee. They have a different teether for every stage of teething. The first one is a gel like dummy that you freeze and the baby then bites down on. You can also use it to apply teething gel. I've given you the link take a look!!
Hope it helps and good luck!
Reply:What I do with my daughter who is 6 months is freeze the corners of clean burp cloths and give them to your baby. She loved those. She wouldnt take teethers or anything else. I also got some of those teething tablets. They are completely safe. I dont know if you are into herbal ( i'm really not) but these work great! Hope this helps
Reply:Before using calpol try teething rings, put them in the freezer so they numb the gums. also you can get bongela for 3 months plus. Try only to use the calpol when really needed. If she is uncomfortable before she is due a feed then put a bit on bongela on then it should ease her long enough for her to finish her feed.
Just look at it this way the earlier she starts the earlier she finishes the older they get the louder the cry it also trues to a squeal. I hope she does not suffer to much their is nothing worst than seeing your child suffer and their is nothing you can do. you just want to take it away don't you.
Reply:Dentinox works quite well. My baby did nit like the taste of bonjela. My HV told me to try Calpol (over 3months) so if its bad I give her some.
