Teething, any tips?

My baby is 15weeks and is teething really bad, he is screaming constantly and I dont know what to do. I have given him calpol and tried all of the teething gels but they arent working. He wont chew on anything or suck on his dummy because anything that seems to go in his mouth seems to be hurting him. I think he is hungry too but like I have already saidd anything that goes into his mouth hurts him so he wont have a feed. He is going to drive me insane! Does anyone have any more tips for me? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Teething, any tips?
i NEVER used orajel or any of those types of things. my doctor told us to try to avoid those because they numb the gums, but also the back of the throat. therefore, the gag reflex doesn't work and the baby wouldn't know he is choking. scary stuff! we use teething tablets. i got them from walmart in the baby section. u just put 2 or 3 under baby's tongue and they dissolve. i'm not sure exactly how they work, but they worked great for my son! i also gave him a cool, wet washcloth to chew on. tylenol was good for bedtime to help the pain so he could sleep. just check with the doctor on dosage. it should be half a dropper of the infant drops. good luck! it'll be over soon!
Reply:Try a cold wet wash cloth.
Reply:try children's benadryl - just rub a little on his gums, same as you would with the teething gels, my pharmacist suggested this to me and it works wonders with my daughter
Reply:Try Ashton and Parsons teething powder rubbed on the gums.
Reply:rub teething gel on his gums
Reply:Help him eat Ice pops. The cold will help and it taste good. It will also keep him hydrated. Also help him eat frozen fruit. Also put juice on a wash cloth and freeze. With my 2 little boys this is what I used and it worked and works.
Reply:I would speak to your pediatrician about giving your son Tylenol. I found that was the only thing that helped my son. I only used it at night so that he could sleep or at nap times.

During the day, I just tried to distract him as much as possible. Hopefully once the Tylenol kicks in, he will feel well enough to eat and then get some sleep.
Reply:my son was like this when he was teething and what works wonder are teething tablets....they are all natural so they will not do any harm to the baby....you can get them at walmart and give the baby 2-3

also try frozen bagels......popsicles.....cold frozen wash clothes....teething toys....

also call your doctor and have the baby checked out if you arent 100 percent sure its teething because that sounds a little young for teething and you need to make sure that he doesnt have a sore throat or ear infections...the symptoms are similar.

hope the little one feels better soon....i feel for you because i have 1 year old that has been screaming all day long today and now he has started throwing up.....i feel like im going to go insane too :-) hang in there!
Reply:Hi, i no what your going thou my little one started teething at 10week..... we tryed most things like you, the best things we found that worked well were

1, ashton %26amp; parsons infants` powders

2, nelsons, teetha, teething granules

3, anbesol liquid

I found that number 2 and 3 worked the best...... they only take a few seconds to use on the little one and once youve done it you dont have to put your fingers or anything else in his mouth which is better for you and baby :-)

Hope this helps............ good luck :-) x
Reply:try putting a wet flannel in the fridge - or just cold water will do- rub it on his gums!

if its hurting so much he wont feed then i think you should see your midwife.

try rubbing his gums with your finger!

if he wont let any thing in his mouth and medicine is not working - try giving him a bath it may take his mind of thing and help him relax!

if he doesn't stop crying in a while call nhs direct to get some better advise - it may not be the teething that is hurting!
Reply:with both of mine i have given them a piece of a frozen waffle to chew on. it is cold and soothes their gums. i don't warm it up i give it to them frozen. i know this sounds weird but they actually eat it and like it.
Reply:my son is teething at the moment and before every feed i always use the ashton and parsons teething powder it seems to calm him down and take the pain away, you can pick these up at boots, tescos or asdas and the are only about £3.00
Reply:my baby is teething to, i got some nelson's teetha from my chemist, its all herbal and absolutely brilliant, it also eases babys tummy too, my little girl now sleeps better and hardly cries through teething, you can also carry on using your teether jels and calpol, they come in little sachets of powder (my little girl takes brilliantly - on a spoon with some baby milk) and you can give every 2 hours up to 6 sachets a day, im only using about 3 a day and teether jel and iv noticed a difference in my daughter - hope this info has helped, good luck xx
