My 14month old is teething (molars). Have you ever noticed...?

My daughter is teething right now. She has her 2 bottom and just got her 4th top tooth. I felt the back of her gums and her molars are trying to come down. Aside from chewing on her fingers in the back of her mouth and waking up a bunch at night she has the usual teething symptoms. She always gets a diaper rash when she is teething and her urine smells really strong. Has anybody else noticed this with your children? She doesn't have a fever at all and she's fine during the day. At night I can smell her diaper when it's full of pee. She is still very actively nursing so I know she's not dehydrated, plus she drinks water also throughout the day. So I guess the question is about the strong smelling urine, have you ever noticed it while teething? My mother tells me that's normal, but I needed more imput. Thanks.

I have not noticed that. My 16 month old just got the last of his first set of 4 molars in. He is still nursing quite frequently and drinking water, as well.





Have you changed diapers? I have found that certain brands of diapers make his pee smell really bad.. mostly the name brands, we always use store-brands.
Reply:Both of my children always broke out in horrible diaper rashes when they were teething. I didnt so much notice a difference in the urine smell but they always seemed to have weird stools.
