14wk old Teething or Growth Spurt ?

My 14wk old has been unusually very cranky today. 2 weeks ago he had a growth spurt and fed every 2 and a bit hours - could this be another growth spurt already. He has cried pretty much all day, hardly slept at all infact only a couple of cat naps after a feed and I couldn't move him because he would then wake again and the scream would start all over.

I was wondering if he could be teething - he does keep rubbing his mouth frantically although he didnt want the teething ring only my finger or his fist?

Usually he is very happy and content. He has slept through the night for the past 3 weeks - feed at 6pm, bed by 8pm sleep through till 7am.

Of course since his Dad has come home from work - he is all happy little chappy ;-)

Could this be another growth spurt already or does it sound like teething to you ? Thanks in advance

It sounds like it might be teething...you may want to try the baby orajel and see if it soothes him little. It may just be a stage though...hope you find the answer!! Good Luck!
Reply:My daughter was really cranky from 6 weeks until about 9 months. We thought maybe she was teething but it turned out it wasn't. To this day we still don't know what it was, but she would cry from 10am until about 4-5pm. Doctors just told us to get over it, which made us angry. You might wan't to find a good peadiatrition (?) (kid Doc.) Seek help before it pushes you over the edge like it did me!
Reply:i had a freind who had a baby boy and 2 weeks after he was born he had his first tooth. he is probably teething, or maybe he is just having a bad day, we all have them.lol. good luck and maybe if he still isnt happy 2morrow take him to your doctor or family health centre and ask them to check him.
Reply:A decrease in appetite, sleeping habits, and attitude can indicate that something is wrong, just as your instincts are probably telling you. The 3 things you have mentioned warrant a trip to the pediatrician.
