Teething already?

my 11 week old baby has signs of teething.flushed cheeks shaking her head, drooling and extra saliva and little raised temperature.could she be teething this early.first time mom.she is also crying but not all the time

Teething already?
wow that is young i think my daugter was 4 months
Reply:That's a little young, but possible.
Reply:i would get it checked out. she could have oral thrush my little sister had that. its signs are exactly signs of teething. if you dont know what oral thrush is if she has it you should notice white patches in her mouth soon. its not really bad. you just have to get it treated with a cream. hope i helped =]
Reply:It is possible. Alot of babies will show signs months before they cut a tooth though. Let her nibble on your finger.
Reply:my eldest was 12 weeks old when she started teething but the first tooth didn't come until she was 9 months old.

Get ready for one of the hardest parts of baby hood to deal with, but it will be over by the time shes 2, mine is now an annoying 17 year old!
Reply:very possible. try tylenol if she's fussy and hurting not motrin since babies have to be 6 months of age to get motrin.
Reply:All babies develop at different rates. It highly could be the beginning of the teething process. Get 2 or 3 of those teething rings that you can keep in the freezer. When she gets fussy give her one of those.
Reply:Some babies are born with teeth, so teething can start at the youngest age.

Keep some teething gel like Bonjela and some Calpol to hand and get a teething ring you can keep cool in the fridge. Let her chew your clean finger, and massage her gums. Keep a bib on her so her drooling doesn't irritate her skin.
Reply:The teeth often start moving around at this time so you get signs of teething even though teeth might not appear for several months.
Reply:My son was the same teething at around 12 weeks i tried everythign from calopol to bongela to teetthing rings it only helped for a little while then it all flared back up the one thing i can tell you to use is Aston %26amp; Parsons Teething Powder is is a natural powder and it works great you can only get it from boots most stores do supply it just ask next time your in . Your meant to tip it into there mouth but at 3 months old anything goes near there mouth and it oo food lets eat it so i discovered putting it on a dummy or on a spoon and allow them to suck it off ... Works Great let us know how you get on
Reply:It very well could be. My nephew cut his first tooth at 14 weeks old, and now at 17 months, has ALL of his teeth. Because he is young, I would call the pediatrician to rule out thrush or any other illness first, but it may just be teething.
Reply:My first daughter was born with what they called Neonatal teeth, they were just coming out of the gums when we left the hospital, so it is possible.

However, what you're describing sounds more like an infection of some kind, maybe not teething, so get her to the doctor.
Reply:That does sound young.....Did you check with the doctor...?? Have you gotten any teething rings yet....and is she putting her fingers in her mouth a lot....as that would be a even more significant sign as well..........chilled teething rings will ease the discomfort quickly...but if she is too young and she is not teething.....I would be finding out what is wrong....Headaches....could be....she cant tell you ....or possibly some other head discomfort....ear infection...???

I would call the doctor.....

My Son cut his teeth....at 4-5 months....four at a time top and then bottom or vice versa...Both times we had him in the Emergency Room at the Hospital.......he ran a 106.3 temperature....YES....106.3 ........we were scared to death of brain damage.......none...he is 25 now...But, we were so worried and the hospital staff as well.....Then put him in a cold bath......shear excruciating pain for him.....I had to hold him in the sink of cold water while they ran in and out and around the room.. Horrible experience....for him and us.
Reply:My little boy is 2 months and I thought he may be teething too as he his often chewing his fist and drooling but I have looked into this any babies usually start at about 6 months. Some can start as early as 4 months but i think the percentages for this early were very low. Having said that I also read that babies start "preparing" for teething a few months before any teeth come through so perhaps this is happening with your baby. It will not hurt to rub in teething gel now in preparation.

Reply:eh, i think thats waay young but nothing is impossible thats for sure. maybe give her doc a heads up.

my 5 month old has been mad droolng and chewing on his fingers like a mad man from about 3 months maybe. he wont take a passie either so he just mows down on his hands. i dont think its teething for mine just yet either. just something babys do.... drool. i might also guess she has a little infection? you should if not already give her a little tylenol to help her out with that and the temp.
Reply:can you feel any teeth coming in? Sometimes babies will get a bubble on their gums or their gums will turn white where the tooth is gonna come in. If your really concerned with it try calling your advice nurse.

She might just have a little cold.......
Reply:it could be teething, my son started showing signs of teething at 7-8 weeks
