Teething Cookies??

My 8 month old baby girl is starting to teeth and absolutely hates anything that is cold and I don't like to give her baby tylenol unless it is absolutely needed so I got to thinking about what I could do for her. I was wondering if it is ok to start her on teething cookies of some kind. Even home made ones so I know what is in them. She is a bottle fed baby unfortunately I was un able to breast feed her I was lacking what ever it was she needed from me and she lost weight after we brought her home and the doctor determined that it was my breast milk after doing tests. Any suggestions or good recipes that i can use or a good teething cookies I can use for her. Please keep in mind though if you have a recipe I can use it has to be simple and fast because I also have a 2 year old that would love to help lol.

Thank you,

Robyn Day

Teething Cookies??
My son is 8 months and he just got 2 teeth.

I gave him Bitter bisquits, they dissolve so they don't choke, and I also gave him herbal things like Teething tablets 4 a day, they taste good and they dissolve. My son loves them he also loves the Gentle Natruals teething drops I give him .50ml and he sucks on that like a candy sucker. It is all natural. I dont like using prescriptions unless it is life or death and he NEEDS it. They also have Zwieback Toast that is kind of a little rough but good and that is actually would popped my sons blister to get his tooth thru. My son HATED cold things in his mouth. But hey if you think about it that cold kind of hurts if held too long.. The bisquits and toast are where the baby food is and the herbal drops are in the baby aisle with the lotiond it has eyore and pooh on it and the tablets are in the vitamins aisle on the bottom they could also be in the baby aisle by the pacifiers. At Walmart. And I don't have to force him to take it. he likes the taste.
Reply:My sister uses Gerber teething cookies for her 8 months old baby...
Reply:I gave my daughter that zwieback toast from gerber when she started teething at 6 months and she LOVED it. She did so well b/c it is so hard. I even enjoyed a few of them myself. ;) They also have little biter biscuits that are good for her to.

What has really been a lifesaver for me though are those teething tablets from Little Remedies. You can get both of these at Wal-Mart or Walgreens.
Reply:zwibek toast thats def not how to spell tho!
Reply:I used gerber biter biscuits and they worked wonders... You can find them in most any grocery store... good luck!!
Reply:I used them for my child at that age and they worked well. Just make sure they don't break and choke on a large piece. So, take them away from them after they get word down a bit and give them a new cookie. They are messy though.
Reply:Teething cookies work good, i like them. They also have these fruit puffs that desolve rather quiclky when they put them in their mouth.
Reply:Look in the baby food isle and there is all kinds of things that you can find. But watch them closely.
Reply:Biter Bisquits are AWESOME, but it says not to start them untill 10 months.

I used Teething Tablets for my 8 month old. (found at Walgreens by the baby oregel.)

Just be careful of wheat. its a high risky alergen, as noted by the AAP.

Reply:Hii Robyn, my two daughters are in their 20's now and back when they were babies I used the little Gerber cookies. May I suggest you call your pediatrician? you do not have to specifically talk to him, you probably can talk to her nurse and tell her what is going on. There may be something NEW out there that we are unaware of--and as far as cookies go, I KNOW the doctors do not want children, let alone babies, starting off on any sugar products too early--so it's best to run this by him first--he may suggest a no salt pretzel instead of cookies made with sugar.

If he okays the sugar and you still want to make your own-- very smary idea- you can probably go online and find all sorts of baby recipes from making your own baby pureed foods, etc. Also you may want to consider ORGANIC foods- no chemicals- and most grocery stores have a huge selection of these products- which may include the teething cookies you are looking for.

Congratulations on your baby girl--best of luck to you---girls are the best thing a mother can have in your life--I know, I have two and they are still a joy and I just love to be with them every minute I can.........
Reply:i tried the cookies, i put them in a mesh bag, they sell them @ the supermarket, they're great the baby can't choke %26amp; it feels good on their little gums
