our 9 month old has 6 teeth comming through and is being a screaming nightmare. anyone got any ideas to soothe teething pain? we've tried paracetamol, ibuprofen, teething gels, teething rings, raw carrot sticks to no avail, he cant have homeopathic e.g nelsons teetha, mason and pearsons as he is allergic to milk and homeopathic tends to be diluted with lactose. thanx
Teething 9 month, screaming! any remedies?
i used to give my children ice pops to suck on they numb the gums and taste nice so they are quiet at least while they are eating them. Good luck.xxx
Reply:Freeze some slices of apple then give them to baby they can suck on thm to ease the pain and it tastes good for them aswell
Reply:Dip your finger in whiskey and rub it on the gums. Works great.
Reply:Have you tried giving him a cooled, damp face cloth to chew on? Has worked in the past. It will pass and life will get back to normal for you soon!!
Reply:Can he chew on frozen waffles? Also, you can put a metal spoon in the fridge and give it to him when it gets cold. (My son LOVED that). Get a washcloth (one without lint) and water down and freeze half of it (that way he can hold onto the part that isn't frozen). Then let him chew chew chew. It won't be long, his teeth will come in and you will have your sweet and happy baby back! Best of luck!
Reply:Some chemists sell teething powder that sticks to the gums unlike gel which slides of so should help to relieve the pain a bit more
Reply:ask his doctor first but try some oreijel... worked great for my niece... also she loved frozen teething rings... just stick it in the freezer...
Reply:i used baby orajel.. and teething pills that disolve asap worked great on my little one :]
Reply:whiskey. not for the baby for you
Reply:aww poor baby. when my 2 were teething i swore by something called anbesol, dont know if you have heard of it or used it, but it is used for mouth ulcers (can be used for babys teething also) it is a liquid form which you rub onto the affected area, it contains anaesthitic and anteseptic (sorry for crappy spelling!) and it numbs the sore area, ie.. reduces pain and swelling. and i think you can reapply it every half hour. I tried all the different teething gels etc but would recommend this one.
Reply:There are these little pill like things you can buy for teething. You put them under your baby's toungue and then they desolve. They really helped when my son was teething like crazy too! It's in a little bottle and the pills are all white. I tried one to see what they taste like and they taste like sugar. Don't let them want the pills.
Reply:If at all possible leave the child with your parents and run off.Phone once a week if the screaming has stopped only then return.......sorry you just got to get through it ,It sounds like you tried most things ,Did any one tell you it would be easy? If so sue them.
