Baby teething?

how old was your baby when s/he started teething? and how could you tell that they were teething? i read so many things about teething babys but i want to hear it from a actual parent instead of just reading it off of a site. My son is almost 5 months old and i think he might be teething but im not sure! ive been thinking it since he was 3 months...im really confused but i think this time its for sure that he is... How can i tell? Thank You =D

Baby teething?
My daughter did not start until 8 months old, my son already had teeth at 4 months, the two front ones-

My daughter LOVED to chew on barbie legs, just the legs, it was easier to manuever. Both my kids hated passifiers, nothing frozen worked (peaches, waffles, stuff like that) My son Loved those baby cookie things, I can not think of the name, but they are about 3 inches long and taste like animal crackers, they are made for toddlers with teeth already, but with no teeth they just slobber all over it and suck off the water down part. Never had a baby choke on one, but with anything ALWAYS supervise. Other than those two things,

was a life saver- my kids hated the children kind tho, it tastes better and has less medicine, I used a Q-tip with the adult stuff, they hated the taste, but it would usually last about 4 hours on the pain, and they would forget they ever were in pain!
Reply:mine was 4 months and drulling and knawing on the hand and was not hungrey and was a little cranky until iput teethinggel on and the top of gums are white knots start forming
Reply:When you find him cranky, dripping, cry for nothing then he might teething.
Reply:daughter got her frist tooth when she turned 8 mths...her second tooth came maybe two week after the first she is still 8 mths turn 9 mths on the 18th. good luck! how i knew was she was drooling alot and got like a pimple on her cheek..and a rash on her chin then lil toothy was showing threw the gum
Reply:None of my 5 babies ever showed the "classic" signs of teething. No drooling, no fever, no fussiness associated wtih painful gums. So we always guessed, and were never right. With our last child, my husband thought she was teething at 2 months old, and that first tooth didn't come until she was 11 months old.

Sometimes it's just hard to know until you actually see that little white nub, and within days, the little tooth just comes right through. Typically it's the center bottom teeth that come in first, if I remember correctly.
