My 7 month old daughter is teething. Up until the last few weeks, she had been sleeping through the night, but now she is up almost 20 times a night! We give her Tylenol and Oragel before she goes to bed around 8:00, but she will wake up atleast 4 times by 9:30. Does anyone else's baby wake up this often due to the pain of teething? Should I be concerned and talk to the doctor? I don't know what else to do (other than the usual cold teething ring, oragel, tylenol) and I feel terrible that I can't help her!
Teething baby?
Sounds like you are doing everything possible to help her teeth... are you sure she's teething??? Sometimes an ear infection can seem like teething, so maybe you should take herin just to make sure that there isn't anything else wrong with her. Plus, earache pain gets worse when kids are laying down too, so that could explain all the getting up in the middle of the night... its' worth getting her looked at.
Reply:try the homeopathic teething tablets, i found these worked best. until the teeth break through tho she will be getting up quite a bit you just gotta ride it out
Reply:Babies teething. Oh joy. You are going to have fun when your baby gets fevers later and refuses to eat. Did I mention she will be more of a pain than she usually is?
As much as I don't want to say it, there really is no way to help. We all teethed before and it is a natural occurence. Using drugs might alter the baby's dental development and might affect her teething behavior later. The most you can do is just comfort your child and hope the teething ends soon.
On a side note, you should enjoy life as it is now. You are going to be in a living hell later when she starts exploring the world with her teeth aka biting everything she sees.
Best of luck.
