Once the teeth break through, are they still in pain until the teeth are finished coming through?? Or does the pain stop when the teeth pop out?? I just dont know if my son is getting more, or if he is still sore from the ones hes got now. After the teeth poke through, should I still give him cold things??
Teething??
YES...THE WORST IS THE BREAKING THROUGH..IT IS JUST SORE TILL IT COMES THROUGH...JUST REMEMBER THAT HE WILL CONSTANTLY HAVE TEETH COMING THROUGH SO THERE WILL BE LOTS OF THE BREAKING THROUGH PART. SO YES KEEP GIVING HIM THE COOL TEETHERS....GOOD LUCK
Reply:yes, they are. just like when you cut yourself, the wound will be sore for a few days, right?
Reply:Its hard to say if their teeth still hurt after poking through, but most likely It probably doesnt...And YES let him chew away on cold teethers! And cold wet wash cloths I think are best!!
Reply:He'll stop hurting when he's done growing all of his teeth. If you've gotten your wisdom teeth you know how much it hurts.
Reply:I've noticed with my children that they seem to be bothered a little bit, but not much once the tooth has popped through. So if that didn't help him, then I would think he has more on the way. My son always got his teeth 2 or 3 at a time - which in the long run worked out better because we had less teething times than what my daughter is now having. If he's still fussy, I'd keep giving him the cold things! My daughter likes them even when she's not teething so it couldn't hurt him. Good luck!
Reply:My son is 6 months [in 1 week] and he only seemed to be in pain in the beginning. The 2 bottom ones are both half way in and he hasn't seemed to be in any pain since they broke skin.
Reply:Oh yes they hurt for a little while afterwards, like a few days to a week or so, needs time to heal. I know this because while my son was getting his first tooth I was getting my first wisdom tooth. I totally sympathized with him there.
Usually baby teeth come in pairs and that may be another problem. My son is now 7 months old and has 6 teeth. 2 at 5 months, 2 at 6 months, and two at 7 months. But they can teeth for a month or two before they decide to come out. That is what I was told, they can start working on coming and then recede. So the teething rings and what not are always good. Hyland teething tablets, night time orajel, etc. And if they start teething at around 4 months they may not want the refrigerated teething rings, my son didn't, too much of a shock. Preferred warm things in his mouth. lol
Since he has multiple teeth I'm assuming he's probably around my son's age. And babies are pure action, so if the cold rings make him feel uncomfortable he'll tell you by his actions. From your question it is implied that he doesn't feel pain or discomfort at all from the cold rings. Sounds like you're doing just fine.
Good luck with your baby!
Reply:it hurts only when the tooth breaks through that is at the beginning. give your child a carrot to chew on.
