Teething and endless crying.??.?

My daughter is 14 weeks old on Wednesday and i think she may have been teething since 7 weeks old. At first she just cried a bit and chewed on things etc... But now shes screaming the house down most of the day and there doesnt seem to be anything i can do to stop her. i have tried Calpol, Bonjela, Calgel, Nurofen, and teething rings and dummies. She has got a cold at the minute and i am using Snuffle Babe vapour rub for that. But her gums arent red or swollen, her cheeks go red sometimes when she cries-but not all the time, and she clamps her gums together on my finger. None of the above thinghs i mentioned have worked. and over the past week or so shes not drinking as much milk as she normally does- she normally has about 8oz and now she will only take about 2oz. im going to the health center tomorrow to get her weighed and i can speak to them the, but i would really appreciate any1s advice as i am unsure if she is teething or not????????

Thankyou

Teething and endless crying.??.?
More than likely your daughter is too young to be teething. You need to take her to the doctor and give them your observations. This sounds like what I just experienced with my daughter, who is now 6 months old. She began screaming night and day at 3weeks. She was diagnosed with colic. I was told to wait it out and that at 3-4 months she should outgrow it.

At 4 months I couldn't take it anymore and the baby was getting worse. SHe drooled constantly, placed a fist in her mouth, cried and screamed most of the day and all thru the night. The doctor ordered an upper GI and she was found to have reflux. We got two medications to try and they have worked miracles. SHe is a wonderful, HAPPY, baby now.

Have your doctor explore all possibilities, but you might mention reflux to ask if that may be the case. Babies do not have to spit up to have reflux.

I feel for you. I have been there. There is a reason your baby is crying and not comforted. You must get her help. Your doctor will be able to tell if she is truly an early teether. But I am thinking this is not teeth causing her distress.

Good luck!
Reply:try Hyland's Teething Tablets... those might work... worked with both my kids... also since she has a cold run a humidifier so it can help her cold....
Reply:Try taking her to see the dr !!!!!
Reply:I think this sounds more like colic. 14 weeks might be a little early for teething. It could be the formula giving her gas and upsetting her tummy. The formula has a high iron content and is harsh the tummy. You can switch her to soy formula. Also, they have infant gas drops, but they never worked for my son. Also, you can give her gripe water. You can ask your pharmacists where to buy it.
Reply:I agree it sounds like acid reflux, the doctor can give you a pescription for this. Does she clear her throat at all?
